I know from my time living there, he's a real promising keeper. I don't think you'd find another player his age that has as many minutes under his belt as Christy. All in League Two but definitely good enough to make the step up. Was naive and prone to mistakes at first (then, he was 18/19 when he started getting first team games for them) but is another very good prospect from their academy. The fact he's going for free is ludicrous in my humble opinion. Would be worth having him if we could get him, I'd like to see a battle between him and Bonham for the number one shirt - would bring out the best in both Has joined Peterborough on a 3 year deal. At least that's one team out of the race for Bonham.

Exactly what Peterborough thought when signing Chapman at the start of last season and released at the end of it. He's been transfer listed not released and regardless Pym is a coup for them, been to watch Exeter a few times and he's a class above. Chapman not required by Ferguson, still under contract so had to be placed on the transfer list. He was a coup for them last season when they signed him. Let's wait and see if Pym does any better there.

Btw on the topic of players/scouting, I'd like to see us keep eyes on the market in Scotland and Ireland. The latter in particularly as Preston have shown there's tonnes of great players in the Irish league, available for cheap and would likely be willing to come to us due to location, league status and probable pay rise. One Scottish player I'd LOVE us to go after is Lawrence Shankland at Ayr. Scored 29 in 33 last season and so far has 28 in 24. Just recently turned down a move to the Belgian second tier and said he's "motivated by game time, not money" so perhaps something we could offer that Championship clubs can't. Either way, probably out of our league but hell of a goalscorer. I still wish we had gone for Gavin Whyte (now a full Northern Ireland Int.) and Mark Sykes (Northern Ireland U21 captain) who I was banging on about for ages that eventually joined Oxford. Both look very promising. Apparently Karl Robinson will be looking to tap into the Irish market on both sides of the border this summer. www.oxfordmail.co.uk/sport/oxfordunited/usnews/17581031.oxford-united-looking-at-targets-in-both-irish-transfer-markets-karl-robinson/Ones I personally quite like in Northern Ireland are Liam Hassin (Larne), Ryan Carmichael (Portadown), Callum Ferris (Portadown), Kofi Balmer (Ballymena United) and Caolan Marron (Glenavon). In the Republic, Andrew Lyons (Bohemians), Ali Reghba, (Bohemians), Sean McLoughlin (Cork City), Thomas Byrne (St Pats), Mikey Drennan (Sligo Rovers), Trevor Clarke (Shamrock Rovers), Aaron McEneff (Shamrock Rovers) and Robbie Benson (Dundalk) are decent. Sykes now called up to the full Northern Ireland squad. www.irishfa.com/news/2019/may/new-call-up-mark-sykes-is-a-player-with-a-lot-of-personality-in-his-game-says-michael-oneill

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48467991Mark Marshall released by Charlton ! He was superb for Bradford a couple of seasons ago. Pacy, good skill, scores and lots of assists. Think he can play on both flanks too. Edit. just noticed he's 32 - too old probably now ?

Spoke with JC and TL today and wished them both the the best of luck for the future. Also spoke to JCH who personally seems very happy and two of his mates are joining just a question of the paperwork being done.

Not necessarily too old as Wally Walters did alright, but id be worried when you look at his age AND injury record.
Great player on his day though!

I’ve been told Bonham is done after he comes back from golf trip and Edwards almost done, but it’s all rumours as usual.

I spoke briefly to JCH TL and JC at Nutfields Gym in Stoke Gifford this morning. JCH didn't say who his two mates were (since the deals are pending completion of paperwork) and I didn't ask but I guess they are from Coventry (the two we have been linked with but of course it could be JCH mates outside of Coventry). I guess we will find out next week. I certainly hope Bonham returns - I thought he was superb last season, and Edwards who our manager obviously should be a very solid acquisition

Richie Towell signs for Salford from Brighton after rejecting Rotherham where he’s been on loan for two seasons. Great signing for them and I expect a great payrise for Towell!
Weird to think Salford City could be a league above us next year.
