Former Atletico Madrid youngster Jacob Mendy catching the eye at Wealdstone and worth a closer look. Another good strike against Maidstone at the weekend.

I wonder if anyone from Rovers is monitoring Luke Spokes who joined Yate Town this summer? He scored a couple of goals in a MOTM display tonight against Taunton Town, including a 20 yard screamer apparently. Plays in successful SGS college side and represented England colleges at the 2019 Roma Caput Mundi tournament. Goal for Mangotsfield last season I see Yate Town midfielder Luke Spokes was on trial with Ipswich Town on 23rd August. Here is the great goal he scored this season against Taunton:

Another SGS College player I can see attracting interest is James Okell. After the College's link up with Mangotsfield United, he featured in the Mango's U18 FA Youth Cup 7-0 win against Clevedon Town last night and scored 5 of the goals. He has also featured this season for Western League side Odd Down scoring once from one start and one sub app. Represented Gloucestershire U18 side. A name to keep an eye on.

Previously linked with us Irish winger Michael Duffy scored a good goal against Slovan Bratislava the other week. After seeing Oxford’s success with Gavin Whyte, could be one to look at in January.

I can see the 16-year-old winger or striker Tyger Smalls stepping up soon. Scores plenty for the Histon U18s and has 4 goals already this season for the Haverhill Rovers first team. One we should definitely check out. Another goal last weekend.

Skint....I imagine the only players we can sign would need a bell in the ball...

I think we could get him without paying a fee. Stick him in the U18s, development squad or out on loan.

Another player I like that might be worth considering on loan if possible is the 19-year-old 6ft 1in striker Marcus Forss at Brentford. He scored 21 goals for the B team and won the B team's Player of the Year award for 17/18. A Finland U21 international, he has 9 goals from 16 appearances at various age levels. Boom!

I hope we are keeping an eye on 18-year-old winger Thomas Hillman and monitoring his progress at Mangotsfield Utd. 3 goals and a couple of assists already this season. On signing for the club this summer his manager said: "Probably the most naturally gifted young player I’ve played/worked with. He has the ability to create & score goals." 6 goals so far now this season in all comps. I wonder if Hillman is one of these trialists? This lad is a possibility too... gaschat.co.uk/post/547330

Surprisingly signed for National League North side Blyth Spartans. When asked about Roberts, Spartans boss, former Newcastle midfielder Lee Clark, told the club’s website: “I’m surprised he’s in this situation where he hasn’t got a club, he was the standout player in Newcastle’s under-23s last year. I never thought that we’d be able to bring him into the club." One to keep an eye on. Scored a quality hat-trick on Saturday, his second hat-trick in a week.

See shankland mentioned on here loads called up by Scotland Surprised he was signed up by Dundee United, thought he'd get a bigger move down south. In excellent form though and a Scotland call up will only accelerate his career further.

A player that we could look at perhaps scouting is Kabongo Tshimanga. The 22 year old striker scored 37 goals in all competitions for Oxford City before signing for Boreham Wood in the summer and becoming the National League's current top scorer with 10 goals in 15 games. I'd expect a fair bit of interest in January for him but he would be a good signing, especially if we are contemplating replacing the goals of JCH. He's got quick feet and good ball control, reminds me of Jakubiak to an extent.
