It does seem strange that there has been no announcement re: kits. It's a trivial issue in some eyes but it's a clear way of keeping supporters engaged across the summer for the season ahead. In an ideal world we would release the new home shirt on the final home game of the season and the away shirt around the Open Day. I remember going to pick up the new shirt on the last day of the season and proudly wearing it that afternoon, in 2007 the new shirts had been released before the Play Off final at Wembley. Last season was a mess but could perhaps be excused due to the change in supplier but I was expecting us to be far more on the front foot this summer.

You only have to look at all the Premier league/championship teams Macron supply to see what the problem is - we are at the bottom of a very big pile and everybody wants the next season shirts now so the big boys get first pick

Hope we don't suffer in the way we did last season.Β The school holidays are fast approaching and some youngsters will want them for their holidays. Here's hoping. Shame really that absolutely no news is coming out from the club that could encourage waiverers Β to sign up for a season ticket. Do we have a marketing team in place?Β You mean news of Luke James on a bus in Filton isn't enough to get people singing up? Oh believe me, when I heard about Luke James on a bus I couldn't stop singing! "We're Rovers supporters, were faithful and true, we always follow the boys in blue and white" "Darrell Clarkes blue and white army" and last bit not least " Oh Rory Gaffney, you are the love of my life, oh Rory Gaffney...."

I thought to myself, why in the f*ck would a footballer be on a bus? If he was at the Mem discussing a contract he would be in his agents beemer/merc or some other top endish motor

It's either the bus or an electric car with those eco warriors!

Any news on this?
Surely Macron must be paying a fine for yet again a very very late delivery? The delay must be costing Rovers quite a packet.
I guess the Fun Day last season was attended by about 1/3rd (at least) of the usual Fun Day attendance and at this rate it might be held on a weekday again this year.
I hope that they are in stock by Portugal. ( or even WBA).

I still don't understand why people genuinely believe the Club and most clubs for that matter genuinely care what the fans think or want.
Fans are on the outside looking longingly in , desperate to be involved, waved to, spoken to or in same people's minds they should be engaged in club decisions like new grounds proposals, signings and now shirts.
Guys ... Clubs including ours do not care one jot what we think or what we need and will continue cloaked silence on all of their dealings, letting us in when they feel they want to. We pay our hard earned cash to want to feel involved, I actually quite like them taking responsibility for all things, feels clinical and professional and I will pay my money to be involved. We will get shirts and all things when they want not when we would like.

I can wait for the shirts. I'd quite like to see what they're like though. Last season's will take some beating.

It's definitely the way it is more likely to be as we 'evolve' into a more professional outfit

It's definitely the way it is more likely to be as we 'evolve' into a more professional outfit I don't think this is the way it needs to be though. A 'more professional outfit' will ultimately seek to meet fans needs in the best way possible as they are ultimately the paying customer - treat them well and they'll keep coming back for more. Our operational side still seems to be a bit of a car crash as an example. Some colleagues bought me a gift for my birthday from the club shop which did not arrive, and kept chasing only to be told each time it was imminent in the post - this has left them all with a bit of an opinion that Rovers are a bit of a joke. I've had similar experiences buying new kit last season (I was sent the wrong one!) and my season ticket for this year arriving (again frequent chasing). I do think we have a tendency to be over critical of how the club operates though, especially over a couple of days delay on seeing / being able to buy the latest kit.

Ironically we haven't really been treated well in the past but we have kept coming back for more! Imagine what it will be like when the club really get it right

I was not being critical of the club. I just feel that Macron have won the contract for supplying the shirt and leisurewear, but their turnaround times are very poor.
I would imagine that if you look at the actual delivery dates for last season and this season, not many clubs get their stock much later and this is costing the club through no fault of their own.
In any business if you fail to deliver surely you try that much harder to improve turnaround times next year?
I believe Holtby and Hamer had several frank calls to the contact at Macron last year and would have hoped for some improved performance.
Plus I like the laid back nature of a weekend Fun Day when kids have a real chance to have photos and speak to their heroes. If Mum or Dad are at work when it takes place, than they can't go. Hope you reading this Mr contract delivery boss at Macron and feel guilty at making kids unhappy!

I hope they have a fun day on a Sunday in July that coicides with the new kit release.
That will maximise profit for the club, and I always enjoy these days. I seem to remember that a couple of thousand people turn up.
