Was this DC's decision? And if so any idea on his reasoning?
From a non-practical/non-footballing POV I thought it was a great trip last year, got us good exposure in local media and I felt our camaraderie with the Catalans would benefit us both over time - it would make for a great feature for a serious football magazine like 8x8 or a Sunday newspaper supplement.
As a fan I find absolutely nothing enticing when it comes to the Hull City (or Hull Tigers as their official Facebook page refers to them) friendly in Albufeira. May have been tempted if it was against a local side, whereas I would 100% have visited Sabadell again. Although I hope those that do make the trip have a smashing time.

Because, it's important to go abroad to play a game with a team in the same country as you.

I don't think a reason was given.
A club statement read: “While we enjoyed our trip to Spain to take on CE Sabadell last summer, we have decided that we will look at other options this summer.”

Sabadell didn't want to play us again as we were not very good or something.

Does it really matter as we can hardly play the same team in pre-season friendlies for the next few years? I had a great time last summer but I wouldn't have gone back again this summer.

It seems someone at Rovers thought that Sabadells financial situation was rather precarious. As it happens it wasn't. But I think the real reason was that someone at the club didn't like the idea of a couple of fans organising the trip even though it was put together brilliantly and everyone was covered by normal Abta insurance.
Last season all Rovers had to pay for were their air fares. This season they have to pay for everything. Last season we took 600 or so, this season only about 100. Last season the game was played at a proper football ground, this season it seems to be a roped off field with one stand that holds 2000.
Sabadell have been taken over by an ex Barcelona guy, and they are sponsored by Hummel. There is no doubt whatsoever now about their viability, and DC personally thanked JK and SH on the trip they put together, and said that he would love it if they went there again.
So it's back in Rovers court. The Sabadell connection is a brilliant and unique pairing of clubs as far as I know, and one we should encourage. It would be a shame if the rapport developed over the last few years was thrown away.

Out of interest who thought that Sabadell were in financial difficulties and did not like two fans organising the trip? Name or names please, rather than your theory's. Only my personal thoughts, perhaps some who went last year would prefer a different foreign destination and just perhaps our club did as well.

You 'think' someone at the club didn't like Rovers fans organising the trip last year, and you can predict that we will only take 100 this year.
Sounds legit.

Sorry to have to contradict you but what Gasincider has said is 100% correct.
One comment, made to me, was we do "not want it arranged on a back of a fag packet, we want it arranged professionally".

Names please? Then I can ask the person/s to confirm this to me.

See me at the first home league game and I will provide the evidence.

Does it matter? All seems a bit pathetic, children throwing their toys out the pram because their pal didn't get the gig again. Pre-season is for the benefit of the players, not the supporters. Don't like it? Don't go but for Christ sake grow up.

Whilst I know JK, I would not say he was a mate/pal, just a Gashead.
If BRFC want to arrange a foreign pre-season friendly I have no problem with that. Just go back to the original post. A question was asked and I have confirmed and expanded on the answer given by Gasincider. What's the problem?

Why wasn't there another game with Sabadell?
The club didn't want one. It's a real shame you weren't so aggy about the old board that nearly killed us. I suppose a bit of stability isn't as important as being fed ITK.

Also worth noting you probably shouldn't base a pre-season around teams with lovely kits. As much as I'd like to see a pre-season of; Dulwich Hamlet, Fluminense, Boca Juniors, Ajax, Sampdoria and the 1994 Germany team.
