The thing I struggle to believe the most, isn't that we bid for Luke James (which is astonishing enough), it's that Posh turned down a bid for him?!?!
Surely even if we offered a quid they'd have bitten our hands off?

Surely even if we offered a quid they'd have bitten our hands off? I was thinking the exact same. There won't be many clubs willing to take his wages off them if they look at his goalscoring stats for the last few years, even if its on a free transfer. I was thinking they'd just be relieved to get him off their wage bill.

I know the official window hasn't opened but it's getting very depressing now, DC is really scraping the bottom of the barrel James of all people it has to be the most unpopular fans choice ever hardly pragmatic. I would rather have Lambert even with his lack of pace has DC lost the plot with this offer At the rate were going we will be up the Downs scouting for players come on DC sort it out FFS the fans are getting restless

DC has been out saviour and I'll back him to the hilt. He has my undying support whatever he decides to do and whichever decisions he makes. He knows what's going on and he has earned our support. I can't believe anyone can question his knowledge of the game and his plan for us going forward.
Unless he signs Luke James. Then he's a f**king nob.

Maybe wait to see if a bid was actually made by DC before slagging him off?
How do we know that the posh chairman isn't full of BS?

It might even make the price slightly lower than if we went for Nichols alone, as James' wages for the next year would not need to be paid by Posh. All depends on whether DC really thinks he can find the key to him as he's clearly a decent player lacking in confidence in front of goal. Stats suggest it would be a big risk but then again if the wage is relatively modest then maybe not so much.

Surely even if we offered a quid they'd have bitten our hands off? It was a deal for both players so presumably they don't mind selling us James as we have a verbal agreement to sign him but they do not want Nichols to be part of the deal. It would be a decent piece of business if we manage to agree a deal for Nichols and James as long as we have plans to bring in another striker capable of scoring 15 goals such as Madden or Godden.

Peterborough have signed another young forward today for a "substantial fee" - Jack Marriott from Luton. I hope DC's lack of real experience in transfer market dealing (with a sizeable budget) is not coming home to roost.

I'll bet the deal to get Nicholls involves taking LJ off their hands! I'm leaving it to DC and not panicking. I reckon he'll still be weeding out those that want a big payday and those who have a **** attitude! They'll take less once their options run out It's what he does!

I have this horrible gut feeling we will lose Billy Bob as part of deal with QPR for Lumely

Also read on McAnthony's Twitter that Ricky Miller is suspended for 6 games - that includes the game with us.
The thought of James returning doesn't fill me with much optimism especially as we already have 2 non goalscorers up front. One hard worker is ok, two just about but three?

Is it just me, or are others getting the impression there's a lot more money flying around League 1 this close-season than last?

In fact if fans had their way there would have been a decent chance Matty T would never have had the chance to start scoring goals, Lambo would have been shipped out, Etc

They'll probably try and re-coup that for Nichols & James.

So you would be happy to have James back then
