Effectively he will no longer be a Bristol Rovers player from midnight tomorrow (unless he signs a new contract). Presumably we still hold his contract but we don't pay him? I wonder if he will turn up for his fitness assessment on Friday? The Chairmsin seems confident he will sign - I'm not so sure.
I hope we have some signings in/on Friday!

It's true. It really is true. There will be a new thread titled Ellis Harrison every two weeks until Chris Lines leaves again or David Pipe moves club.

On 23rd June Steve Hamer said he'd "be surprised" if Ellis Harrison didn't sign a new contract in the next few days. 5 days later...

Hopefully Ellis is monitoring the forum, see's that we are on to his game of showing up once or twice in a season, and sods of to another team to fulfil all this 'Potential' he has.

If he hasn't signed by 1 minute past midnight I'd like to think the contract will be withdrawn - taking the p*ss now

Is Ellis the only player that could be out of contract? I seem to remember Kilgor was offered a contract too but I haven't heard anything.

Yay, another Ellis thread.
Because slagging him off in 10 other threads just isn't enough.

I do wonder what sort of contract we actually offered him, whether it was one that we actually wanted him to sign or just matched last year's deal so that we could get a fee for him when he leaves.

If he hasn't signed by 1 minute past midnight I'd like to think the contract will be withdrawn - taking the p*ss now Would be a daft move if we did as we then wouldn't be entitled to compensation if he signed for another club. It's a bit worrying that Padstow appears to be more ITK than our Chairman! Plus since DC said he needed 10 new players this summer we'll now be minus 1 player down.

Not like he done enough to warrant an improved contract though Possibly not. But with the club moving forward and players expected to do the same, they might start to expect a better wage. Anyway, I was more just making the point of whether or not DC does actually want him or just wants to make sure he gets a fee for him.

We will only be entitled to compensation if we offered a contract equal to or greater than his existing contract. If we've offered him reduced terms then no compensation would be payable.

How do we know he hasn't already signed and the club just hasn't announced it yet?

Yay, another Ellis thread. Because slagging him off in 10 other threads just isn't enough. The OP was a genuine question - there was no hint of slagging him off as you so eloquently put it. A player who has been with the club for many years - he's lucky he's getting people even remotely interested in what he's up to. A posting which has far more relevance than his haircut I would suggest.

Perhaps the lad wants away because of the stick he's been getting I hope he stays for another season at least because DC will get the best out of him!

If people feel we can genuinely get 3 strikers - in this window - better than Ellis, then fair play. I'm not sure we can given we're quite a small L1 club, hence why I think him and Gaffney are good squad players to have. Hope he signs but wouldn't blame him for wanting more game time.
