Happy with this.
If he really kicks on this season and fulfils his potential, happy days.
If not then it's not the end of the world, as he'll probably be one of five strikers we have in our squad this season.

Happy to see Ellis stay. I wanted rid of him after relegation to the conference but DC seems to have really turned him around so credit to both of them. I'm surprised Ellis wants to stay though as most players crave first team action and DC uses Ellis from the bench quite a lot. Just thought Ellis might look elsewhere to get a walk-up start every game somewhere. I think you're right about DC turning him around. I think if he's ever going to reach his potential it'll be here rather than elsewhere, as a manager with less man-management skills with DC will probably mean Ellis goes off the rails. I think if we had've released him following our relegation and DC didn't sort his head out, Ellis would be rotting away in the Evo-Stik league now.

Pleased with this, but Ellis must kick on and improve his consistency. Ellis signing has saved a lot of money which can now be spent elsewhere on the squad.

There's a lot of negative comments on facebook people have very short memories he played a vital part in getting the gas to where they are now. Think it's good signing to be fair even if he's not going to be 1st team regular he will be useful to have on the bench. I was more dissapointed with gaffers last season think he fell well short of whats expected of him

Happy he's signed. Decent squad option at the very least. Hoping he's not our "talisman" for next season - and I've no doubt we've have players lined up who will be our first choice strikers. But on his day he's class and is a decent option from the bench at the very least.
Happy he's signed.
Very surprised we had a 6-figure bid for him though? Must have been following the Northampton game no doubt.
Wonder who it was?

The thought of having Ellis and Luke James up front for a single game next season scares the crap out of me!

Congratulations to EH on his new contract .Im sure it will be beneficial for both club and player.
Dc and his backroom team have worked alongside EH for a number of years now .If they think he is worth giving a new contract then that really is good enough reason.

35 goals in 74 career starts is decent. I've said it before, Ellis has all the attributes to do well at this level and score goals on a consistent basis. Will he do that this season...only time will tell, but at the age of 23 he is far from his peak and should continue improving and developing his game. Good luck to him, I hope he scores plenty next season.

If he has been working as hard as he says during the summer then good luck to the lad he will deserve to succeed

I have been very scathing of Ellis in the past but i'm happy to support him if he put the effort in... Would love to see some objective stats on 'effort' (i.e. km ran per min) from last season, bet they'd make for interesting reading. For Sincs it would... for Ellis, I think I saw a statistical analysis somewhere that looked something like... Distance: Sinclair - Everywhere, all of the time.. I had to check there wasn't two of him! Harrison - Someone check for a pulse... is it normal for a player to spend so much time laying down during a game!?!

As that is what we should be signing. There are lots of players in our recent footballing history that have helped get us to this point, and I will remember them fondly... I'll even give a cheer and a round of applause should they visit us at half-time (the Snake being the obvious exception) like those players, we have to move on, Ellis has done a job for us that he was rewarded for (paid) and now we should find better.Afterall, do you think we should re-sign Walker? or perhaps Roberts!?!
