There's a lot of negative comments on facebook people have very short memories he played a vital part in getting the gas to where they are now. Think it's good signing to be fair even if he's not going to be 1st team regular he will be useful to have on the bench. I was more dissapointed with gaffers last season think he fell well short of whats expected of him You're right... he played a vital part in getting us where we are now, but, do you think he is Championship quality? As that is what we should be signing. Any self respecting 'Championship quality' players won't be signing for Bristol Rovers. They'll sign for Championship clubs, or Blackburn at a push. We should be signing players who are capable - now or in future - to get into the top 6 in L1. The attitude of get rid of a good squad and sign players who are somehow good enough for the division above is what got us relegated into non-league. Utterly bizarre comments about Walker and Roberts by the way, Ellis is 23 with room to improve either here or elsewhere, not retired.

35 goals in 74 career starts is decent. I've said it before, Ellis has all the attributes to do well at this level and score goals on a consistent basis. Will he do that this season...only time will tell, but at the age of 23 he is far from his peak and should continue improving and developing his game. Good luck to him, I hope he scores plenty next season. Yeah, you've dressed that up to look better than it is... as while it is 74 starts, there are another 84 from the bench... and he's only got 35 goals. If he was a player we were rumoured to be signing, with those stats, would you honestly be pleased? Add to the fact we've witnessed countless lacklustre performances (I say countless, I mean 137 lacklustre and one where his mum showed up)... would you still want to sign him? He served a purpose while we've been getting to where we are... now we need to stop being sentimental and move on.

Well, they'll sign if the management team can sell them the dream... and we are not talking about getting rid of the squad, just debating the (lack of) merits of EH signing. and the comment regarding Walker and Roberts was a direct response to the nonsense of people saying how vital his goals have been and the notion he should be given a contract on that basis.. all goals are vital, Should we get Hartley back... he knocked six in last year.. his stats are probably a lot better than Ellis' for goals/min!!

At 23-years-old I still think EH has a bit of potential so is worth sticking with for the time being. We're trying to sign Nichols for a fee and his record is 49 goals in 122 starts and a further 58 sub apps. And no, I'm not jumping for joy over his potential signing.

Come off it guys Harrison is the probably the best home grown prospect we have had in years - we need to help him along not slag him off (that is sh"t style) Remember where Ollie was this time last year? look at him now - give Ellis support and encouragement like DC has and he could be in a fantastic place in 12 months time

What the dream of playing for a team that has only just come back from the conference and has had one reasonable year in league 1, the dream of playing at the Mem which let be honest is not the best ground in L1, the dream of training at our rented training ground, the dream of moving to the west country which is limited in terms of other clubs and has a high cost of housing etc.
Whilst the board are addressing lots of these issues, and we know Bristol is a great place to live, for the average player the "dream" won't start to deliver in terms of new training facilities and a stadium until their contract is over ....

Then how on Earth have we ever managed to sign ANY players?? So, what you're telling me is.. we are only good enough for the likes of Ellis Harrison!!! I want a refund on my season ticket.. I thought we were better than that!

I'll even give a cheer and a round of applause should they visit us at half-time (the Snake being the obvious exception) like those players, we have to move on, Ellis has done a job for us that he was rewarded for (paid) and now we should find better.Afterall, do you think we should re-sign Walker? or perhaps Roberts!?! What is championship quality? A promoted squad player, a £300k signing or a £5.3 mil signing?

What Rovers would be trying to do is sign Peterborough uniteds top scorer of last season who is under contract. Regardless of the stats that's how they will see it.
