God, please..
(Original tweet: "Cardiff manager Neil Warnock has told ex-Rovers star Rickie Lambert that he is surplus to requirements 🔵⚪️ #BRFC")
Edit: Plymouth & Blackburn have now ruled themselves out after failing to meet his £25,000 wages.

Lambert would be a good experience head to have in our side as long as we can bring in someone up and coming who has been stick the ball in the net.

Last few years of his career, dropping down the leagues - why not take a little pay cut & come back to the club that made you the person you are, and end your career on a high? Hope DC accepts the history of the club, and sees something in Lambert. He'd score quite a few goals, despite his age, at this level imo

Gaffney wont leave, he's only just signed a contract this month. If he were to leave, (and that would be VERY shocking) then I'd 100% want Lambert over James.

Why would Gaffney have to leave in order to sign Lambert? - I am not sure I understand that bit

Think is we need a poacher not a centre forward. We already have Ellis and Gaffney. I would like him back but feel we would be better off spending the budget elsewhere.

Maybe this post would be more appropriate in the joke section.

With Lambert playing with his back to goal at this level, anyone of Gaffers, Ellis, BB plus others should score a hatful. Add in 10 to 15 from Sir Rickie himself and up we go.
Don't think it will happen though which sucks.

Assuming he's still reasonably fit then who else are we going to sign who's capable of scoring 20+ goals in Div 1 this season for a reasonable fee/wages? Although if we're looking to sign two strikers from P'boro then there seems little chance of DC being interested in signing RL.

If Warnock wants him off Cardiff bill then he might be prepared to pay MOST of his wages - Lambert along side Ellis at Rovers wages could work for all

A 36 year old Mark Walters nearly got us promoted out of this league playing as a wing back. He lacked pace but his quality on the ball with set pieces made up for it.
Could be the same with Lambo. Good footballing brain, good at set pieces. I would say good at pens too, but we all know they don't count....Would do more than a good job at this level.

Would love to have him back but I fail to see how this tweet is teasing a return?
