Let's face it, if EH and RG are first-choice and we don't get three goalscorers (2 bangers) we'll only be mid-table.
I still think Luke James has a lot to offer and will be a 20-goal a season striker at some point in the future.

Like your optimism but LJ not going to suddenly going to start bossing defenders and scoring goals at free will. He isn't at all strong or quick.
If he is a talented footballer, and good with the ball at his feet, I see him being like Modric if he can be coached into playing in that sort creative role.
But I just don't see him as an out and out striker so shouldn't be consider as 1 of the 3 to bring in .

DC said he'd sign 3 more strikers, who do you want? 3 ? Think it's going to be just 2 to add to Gaggers and Ellis !

As it stand: Rickie 18/48, 37.5% Nichols 17/48, 35.5% James 5/48, 10.5%
Not a ringing endorsement of anyone, but I think it's fair to say DC knows better than the rest of us and will probably prove most of us wrong whoever he signs.

I mean, I get that you've got to be optimistic and I get that there's something in his play that looks "nice" but ... come on ... 3 goals in how long? 96 games? You've got to have some basis in reality to think he'll suddenly turn the tap on to get 20 goals. People said it about Andy Williams and while he certainly improved he was nowhere near a 20 goal striker. People said it about Daryll Duffy and again ... not even close. Scott McGleish same.

Think you are bang on the money, I have every faith in DC to get some decent signings in, some on here have no patience but that is based on boredom, and no real evidence that we are dragging our feet. I think it is excellent that we are all in the dark, makes us more professional, and does not tip off other clubs about our intended targets. Like Xmas as a kid, put your wish list in and get disappointed!

Regarding Luke James:
Was Ollie Clarke the finished article at the start of the season? Are you glad we kept faith now? We have an awesome, committed midfielder who is gas through and through, even if we sell him, he may come back like Lines...if the same people slating LJ had their way, we'd have the same bunch of useless journeymen who got us relegated.
He was put in the mix last term EARLY because the snake left. The idea was to bring him on slowly but Clarke hand was forced to play a player who isn't ready. We had nothing else and why not let him get some games? I saw some good flashes of a good player.
How about the snake - he had 12 games of nothing? Or lambert, the fat midfielder.
Fed up with toys being chucked because we don't get everything we want, all the time. The list of players who took time to learn but ended up a good player is as long as the list as "quality" who did absolutely nothing for us whatsoever.
If we can get better, fine, but support anyone who works hard for the club, and I've seen few players work as hard as LJ, and that's why Clarke played him, and not Harrison, who is lazy but a bit more Hollywood.
Has DCs reign taught you nothing?
HARD WORK BEATS TALENT, in the end.
