The abuse started from the kick off, before we had a chance to be crap! Yes I know its 11 v 11, & the completekly giving up after the 2nd goal was unforgiveable, but if any of you think the booing is helping, you are massively mistaken, I was there, it stopped others getting behind the team, very sad I said it wouldnt be a popular post, 5 minutes in someone tried to get one bloke to shut up "I paid to get in I'll shout what I like" was the response, no one pushed back after that. I would have offered to pay for him to leave!

So why are we there then? Why do we bother? Why are fans known as the 12th man? Why are some home grounds like a fortress? Why is home advantage an advantage? It's not an excuse for losing a game as such, but if you think your own fans abusing their own team on a seemingly regular basis is conducive to improving the performance of players clearly low on confidence then maybe boycotting a game is the best option for you. Whilst i agree DC said he knew this would happen and questioned the mental capacity of last years squad. He promised he would interview players and sign mentally strong players. Its rare away crowds are so hostile :-( Then he signed Leadbitter!! The bloke's a clown and posters on here can blame who they want but nothing will change whilst we have a manager who hasn't clue, answering to a Chairman who similarly as clueless. Incidentally the lack of Rovers fans at Altrincham make a difference, clearly not! Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

Good performances will turn the crowd. It's clear months of frustration is taking its toll (did a gas fan punch a Braintree player?). But DC and the team have to put that right. I reckon fans will give him a few more weeks, who knows how long the board will stick with it but I hope there us a plan b this time if we need it. We aren't usually very good at having them

So a question asked elsewhere is "Why didn't the players want it", well today i saw something that MUST have contributed. From the very start the Team were getting abuse, sadly the most vocal parts of the crown were those dishing out the abuse, it absolutely dwarfed any proper 'Support'. Calling Dave Martin 'Dartford' isnt a term of endearment, its abuse, people think they are being funny, but the reality is they are NOT HELPING. Yes we lost in part because of the most ridiculous penalty decision I'v e seen in years, but lets not kid ourselves that we the Fans arent part of the problem.
DC will go on about how great the fans are, hes not as Stupid as Buckle & knows he needs to keep the Fans on side, but was there a degree of Truth in what PB thought?
What has been constent throughout our awful decline, not the players, not the manager, but yes the Fans.
If we dont get everybody behind the Team we are screwed, & I really cant face going to Lincoln to listen to that sort of crap again.
Rant overYep all the fans fault that we've been sh*t for years, those 560 that went today are a disgrace, spending very hard earned money and spending a whole day travelling, scum one and all. (Bit of sarcasm obviously), sorry mate can't be having what you've said at all. I would love to see how you would perform at work if one of your colleagues came over to you just before you started and said 'good luck today mate, I hear you're proper sh**e'

It's all booolocks because if we we had a decent set of players we'd win games. We haven't , we've signed mid to lower vanarama(?) players and former lower league cast offs. One day .... Pretty soon as a collective we'll rise up and not take this anymore. I think that day is not too far off....

i dont like the way modern supporters act but its a reflection of how modern society has changed as in every day life people are not polite, happy to swear in front of kids etc etc but players have to live with this just as we all do,its the same at every club now but its not a valid excuse for poor performance, remember the abuse david beckham got at every ground after being sent off in the world cup did he buckle and hide, did he hell

You have summed it up in this post. They gave up after the second goal. That was it. Game over from both players and manager. I don't know where you were stood but there was definitely no slagging from the start where I was. Just a load of gasheads who have once again spent their hard earned time and money to be served up with a performance that was quite simply atrocious. The only boos directed at the team were at the final whistle and rightly so. We gave up. The players did not give a toss about us fans that have travelled all that way to watch. 2-0 oh well game over. Pathetic. Do you honestly expect us to cheer and clap that? I have tried my hardest to be as positive as possible but the fact is everything about our club is a joke. Everything bar the fans. How you can come on here and criticise the fans that travelled today is beyond me. We are the only positive thing this club has got and its about time we got something back.

These are grown, and I assume, mostly working class men, I can't comment on what a pro footballer's mindset is like, but if I ever got abuse for doing what I was paid to do, from clueless untrained people who perceived it as poorly, I would react by wanting to put one over on them and show them up, although I am not a precious little flower.

Just tying to get him to relate to the situation, I don't think he's in a business where people pay to watch him work, might be wrong though

Depends on your age and experience in my opinion, many of the players are quite young, never actually had a 'proper' job, they've been told since they were quite young that they're brilliant and now they've got a load of their peers shouting abuse at them, maybe I shouldn't defend them because they are wimps and not proper men, but that's the team we support and true of most footballers maybe, and perhaps, just perhaps they'll perform better if people aren't giving them crap from the sidelines before they've even kicked a ball

I'm not saying abuse works, is big or clever or anything like that. I think the point I'm trying to make is that we've been there done that, the fantastic support at the end of last season counted for nothing. It's at the stage now where the crowd need something from the players first and not the other way round. We're all understandably at the lowest point of motivation for getting behind them we've ever been. Clarkes caused this to an extent by promising nice attacking football and delivering the opposite, saying we'd hit the ground running and doing the opposite and saying that we should be top 5 minimum. Not gonna happen.
