I'm feeling tip top! Chill out everyone. Every day is a happy day now that we're not in the conference anymore.

i get the feeling that when it gets to getting new players in we are being left behind...again!! Quite a few clubs have made many more signings then Daryl Clarke has. Why is this? the new season is 4 weeks away and still we have not signed any strikers, centre halfs or midfielders. Wheres the 10 signings that were promised? At this rate, I can see us struggling next season and then the pressure will be on DC! We go to Portugal on Sunday. What sort of squad will be see over there! Sorry, but im getting worried that the signings DC wants just arnt going to be available!

I would have imagined since our change of circumstances we wouldnt have been waiting for all the frees to be available. Like we did with Liam Sercombe why couldnt we get more deals sorted in June. We do leave it late way more often than not.

Fully agree with the OP. I'm not overly excited for the new season to be honest. I've started to take anything Steve Hamer says with a pinch of salt I'm afraid. Shame, really. You're right Hugo. The bloke p1sses me off to be honest. He bullshits for England I'm afraid and he's been found well and truly wanting. I don't know how good he is as a chief executive, because we don't see him in business action. I suppose DC must think he's ok because I don't think he would fall for the sort of sh1t he peddles when interviewed. I certainly wouldn't be concerned if Wael replaced him. At the moment my view is that you know when Hamer is lying because he is talking.

Seeing the recent videos on you tube from BRFC makes me more confident we're getting things right. We have a proper back room team now that is growing and we are becoming a very professional club something we've never had in my lifetime. To think we were run as a pub team team just a couple of years ago is incredible. We're putting the cart before the horse and building some solid foundations. I'm more confident this summer than in years before. I fully believe we'll sign another 3-4 players by the end of next week and if that includes a striker, winger and a CH we'll all be a lot happier.
If some of you haven't seen these videos take a look. Apologies if they've been posted already.
I feel good, but I knew that I would.

I guess the issue is SH suggested DC thought he had a top 6 budget and had also identified 3 players for every one of the 10 he wanted brought in, DC then mentioned 3 different strikers etc and mentioned bringing in players of a better calibre, before dropping the number to 6 or 7 newcomers.
Now he's playing loads of trialists, who somw I assume he's considering signing, who seem typical of the players he's always signed and would have needed to sign anyway as he released so many players in May.
The concern for me is if we start the season with more or less the present squad with no big signings then will we have gone backwards given the likes of Bury and P'boro seemed to have made some impressive signings.
From thinking in May this might be the season we pushed on for a top 6 spot, at the moment it's looking like another average season, unless DC's big signings, a CH, LW and striker, or two, are still being lined up.

Not feeling to happy to be honest. I would have thought that we would have signed more than we have especially as we were told that we were getting in several players. Surely trialists are not included in DC's plans ? We need quality to build on last season. DC must have a shopping list so lets hope that contracts are being negotiated. Although the rumour mill is quiet

There's now just over 3 weeks to the start of the season and we have only 17 realistic candidates for the starting 11 and the 7 on the bench: 2 keepers 6 defenders (Partington is one of those - what's happened to him, and we have no left-footed CB amongst them) 7 midfielders 2 strikers !!!! A left-footed CB and 1 striker surely a must in the next 7 days !? plus another 3 before window closes (a left back, left midfielder and another forward) !?

Only last week in DC's interview he said not to be too concerned if it looked like there was not a lot happening, because there's a lot going on behind the scenes, I for one still believe this to be the case, I would've preferred a couple more in the building already but I'm sure DC knows what he's doing.
As for his budget, he seemed happy enough with what he's got to spend and also being able to keep a bit back for January as he does like to do, I'm sure he'd be letting people know if he thought he was lied to or wasn't getting what he thought.
In summary, still happy and trustful of DC to get it right, if there's still no more signings in another 2 weeks then I will start getting a bit concerned.

None of us really know anything and it's not over until the transfer window closes. Would people rather have a mediocre bum-on-a-seat signing early on that may be money wasted, or fight for a great signing that we may lose out on right at the end? It's a difficult one to call. Maybe DC really is fighting hard to grab some really good players.
