I can't remember that particular game, but I remember a few others from that season. The Ipswich opener when we drew 3-3 was the game Marcus Stewart burst onto the scene if I remember rightly. Also remember the 3-2 vs City just before Christmas. Strange that only attracted just over 6000, in the championship too. Typo perhaps?

That was my first season watching Rovers too.
Also, 6000 may have been right. How many could you get in Twerton?
We mixed it with some big names then.
Jesus, we've fallen a long way.

What a coincidence. I was looking for some photos earlier. I came across an old programme too. And I thought I'd scan it in and put it on the forum.
Won't be until later in the week.
*my programme is older than than. Just looking now, there's no year on the cover but it cost 10p

The City attendance is listed as 6306 elsewhere, so it must be right. It may be that the capacity was lower then, as I think that maybe some ground improvements were carried out after promotion? I'm sure that the eventually capacity was nearer the 8k mark?
Those were certainly good times - thanks for the memories Captain Jayho!

I remember the 2-1 win over Oxford. Jones had just come back from injury and in the first 5 seconds broke his leg. Vic callow was ref in that game too. Boooo !

The 1-0 won over Pompey was a big one for me too. My Dads team and he'd always given me stick about us being in a lower division than them. Hehe .

The Geoff Twentyman 'tache deserved it's own recognition in the team photo list as well if you ask me. Bloody marvellous!
And for those moaning about the quality of the team photo this year - you must be enjoying the '91 effort. Couldn't even get the horizon straight! Didn't seem to matter though :-)

Carl Saunders, Devon White, Marcus Stewart. They would do a job in the conference as a forward line.
