O clarke was anonymous second half as he was subbed off... Browner - delivery is the same over and over again. Floaty. Why change shape so quickly? We clearly worked on shape all week. Clarke off, Part on, keep playing and keep the width. DC suggested that partington wasnt completely fit on radio bristol so he put sinclair right-back. I was listening on the radio but thought it strange to move sinclair as his energy in midfield might have helped wear charlton down what with them being a man short.

I just can't see how the ball has crossed the line. If all the ball was over the line BEFORE it hit the post then it wouldn't have hit the post at all and it would be in the back of the net. If all the ball was over the line After it hit the post then the ball would be in the back of the net. It is beyond the laws of physics for the keeper to have saved the ball onto the post, the ball to have then crossed the line and miraculously found it's way back out again so that the keeper could smother it. It can be clearly seen that he didn't scoop the ball back out. We have been robbed of a point. I'd love to be able to get my hands on that linesman's betting slip for today.

Smithy ran to the linesman at FT and gave him both barrels.

Absolutely sh*te. You dont mind losing against the better team. But when you play against 10 men for basically 90 minutes and put in a performance like that it is unacceptable. Ellis and Broom just not good enough, I would seriously consider dropping Brown(He's been a loyal servent) but his final ball and crossing is awful. Hopefully the new lad from Stoke will hit the ground running. It might just be a knee jerk reaction, we're always sh*t on the opening day aren't we? But that was dire. I agree, knee jerk reaction! Away from home against a bogey team with a decent squad. I watched on ifollow and yea we lacked ideas but Charlton put every man behind the ball second half we didn't have the creativity to break them down. I thought Ellis worked hard when he was on and Gaffney didn't do any better when he came on so why is Ellis not good enough? Broom did okay too without anything spectacular. Bodin and O.Clarke were both poor today but haven't seen many mentions about them.. We need a left winger with pace to give us a different dimension but DC has already said he wants a winger so no doubt we'll see someone coming in by the 31st. 45 games to go and still confident we can be challenging the top 6 come May I'm a bit confused by this ifollow can we watch the game if we live in the uk or is it for just people abroad??

We deserved a point, but they had more quality and we were poor in the final third, never looked like it crossed the line, but hopefully we will get some luck back in another game.

We would need luck in six games to equal that F up by the linesman . The real travesty is that referees and linesmen are never properly held to account. On the rare occasion that they are called before the powers that be, they merely get a slap on the wrist or told to have next weekend off. The officials have the power to affect the outcome of a game and dodgy officials always get away with it. Even if this linesman were to get a 10 week ban we have still lost the game. Hopefully things will even themselves out over the season.

After a sending off officials often give a doubtful decision the other way...it's as though they doubt their own judgement and so try to even things out.

Very hard to take DC seriously when Harrison and Broom are involved... both not good enough. Big season ahead for Brown and Sinclair who are great guys but again not really Championship chasing players. Amazed that Nichols and Gaffney didn't start today ...a poor end to a difficult week. Cannot see gaffney was any better in fact his one chance he hit it back the way it came and if Brown hadn't stopped it then a throw would have resulted

Very Coventry'esq performance today.Set up wrong as Harrison can't hold the ball up so should never be the lone striker which surely DC should know by now.Have to come up with a formula for winning away games because we ain't looked the business for a long time now on our travels.Fecking hate the first game of the season.

I was sat at the front just behind the goal about 3 metres away, probably the nearest, although I wasn't in line. Smith made a great save pushed ball onto the post and then leant up and caught it. The whole of the ball couldn't have been over the line and at HT they showed it on the big screen and it didn't look a goal. Problem for us was that after the deserved red card the referee spent the rest of the match trying to equal it up and giving Charlton most 50/50s. The time they were allowed to waste was scandalous. We had the stop in the second half that I timed at 4and a half minutes and we only got 4 minutes in total. Poor refereeing but I guess it's frustration that makes me say that. Broome wasn't too bad but him and Brown didn't create too much that worried Charlton and for the chances to cross the ball there was no quality and never found a forward. Work to be done this methinks. A few silver linings: Sercombe, Broadbent, Smith all put in very good performances. UTG!

That train back was one of the best. Barton Hill songs and playing with the train man is a daymaker!

For those of us who can't see on sky sports (only available in the U.K.) could some one please take a few print screens of the "goal"? I use Hola as a Chrome add on. Or you could get Windscribe. Or Dr Gas usually posts the video. Let me know if you'd like help with the first two.

None of our player disputed the goal. They didn't? They all looked pretty bemused/frustrated and Smith was berating the officials at one point. We were toothless today (and Charlton defended well) but its a lot easier for Charlton to sit on an illegitimate 1-0, compared with chasing a goal at 0-0 for another 45. Their set up, game management etc. completely different after the goal. Onto Tuesday and next week I guess.
