As an ex-ref (At pretty high standard), it was two-footed, both feet off the ground, red card, end-of! No discussion needed! Let's get back to the OP and whether EFL will do anything about the spitting. If I'd have seen it, he would have gone as well! Just wonder if EFL will do anything? You must have had your glasses on Saturday then!

Don't always agree with GGMI but have to admit Sinclair is not prone to avoiding the odd dive here and there as he has demonstrated on more than one occasion. I have always thought that is something that is coached in the modern game, not by the coaches but by the overpaid Premier leagues stars and copied by lower league professionals and schoolboys alike. Nonsense

I like your posts normally but you've embarrassed yourself here. Clear red card challenge. Two footed lunge in to a 50/50 ball, through the player. Not every two footed challenge is that bad though, just because it is two footed. I was embarrassed by the way Stu rolled around tbh. In the current laws of the game it may be a red but it really wasn't that bad and considering it was the 6th minute of the game;I would personally have giveb the benefit of the doubt and only gave a yellow. If it's two footed it's a red card, doesn't matter if it's "really not that bad and considering it was the 6th minute..." Two footed means he's out of control and as to timing doesn't matter what minute if it warrants a red card then it's a red card. Rules don't say it fine to do it in the first few minutes of the season! Fortunately it didn't but it could have broken SS's foot. One of the clearest red cards I've seen. UTG!

I just think decisions should be left more to interpretation sometimes. Rules are rules I guess, it really wasn't that bad though and SS has exaggerated it.

Don't know much about him but DC seems to bw more loyal to his contracted players than loanees. Apart from Sweeney. Telford's much better than the 2 Chelsea loanees we had here last season. I hope you're correct but tbh how do we know?

But Sweeney made the position his own. Gave DC no choice. Nor will Telford, believe me 😁 You obviously do know!😀 UTG!

I have to agree with GGMI (for once!) Sincs play acting, including yelling out when fouled, is getting a bit tiresome particularly when he sets himself up to be a true pro/hard man of the team, the fact he got up straight after the red card suggests however bad the tackle was he did make a meal out of it. We can hardly complain about our opponents play acting if DC lets one of his own players carry on doing it.

Yes I know what you mean about being left to interpretation but unfortunately refs are not consistent and one would give a red and others might not. At the moment that particular law is clear and it was a red card. Especially with that ref after the decision over the goal. UTG!
