Good report, Don'the think the ref was that bad though. As for our players think your marking was very generous. Were you watching the same game ref was dreadfull as were the linesmen, Sercombes booking Handball in the first half, thought the player was playing basketball it was that obvious yet that went unnoticed player should of been booked. Ref 2/10 linesmen 1/10 Strange how some supporters who watch their side getting hammered then blame the referee and his linesmen! Sercombes booking was fully deserved, he lost the ball and pulled the man back by his shirt. Grow some balls, accept the defeat and move on. We lost that game because we were useless end of story.

Agree, Sercombe's was a blatant tactical yellow. Seen far far worse refs, in faxt the one last week was worse for a start.

Today was very poor, not going to go OTT based on one game but as I have said before this year will be DCs toughest test, in my opinion he made some significant mistakes with his squad changes this year, he has made too many changes and I understand the squad has lost some of it's togetherness, I also hear the way he treated some popular senior pro's and one or two of the youngsters has meant he has lost respect from some areas of the dressing room. That said DC is his own man, in for a penny .... time to bring 2-3 more in and set about building the team togetherness that has got us through the past 3 years. Just a shame the season has started, hopefully he will add before we are too far off the pace 🤞

It's not about growing a set as you put it Not sure where you were stood when Sercs was booked but from the Thatchers end ( group of dickheads stood in the walk way to the left of goal so didn't get a clear view of it) but it didn't look like a booking. I still stand by my referee quote they were very poor IMO there where a lot of things that went unnoticed and unpunished by both the referee and linesmen but hey ho ive got no balls as I'm just blaming the officials One thing I will agree the sides performance was water poor we made an average Posh side look good I don't do player ratings but if I had to none of the team would of got more than a 5 based on todays performance.

Poor performance all round today, but I think part of the problem is our set up/ formation. The defence was poor individually and collectively today, but the way we set up is going to put us under pressure - especially with a team like P'bro with a high press and the midfield needs to take a good look at their defensive performance today.
A starting midfield of Lines, Sercombe, with Sinclair and Bodin wide makes us defensively vulnerable IMO. We need someone in front of the defence who is a stronger defender if we are playing four at the back. If we want wing-backs, I'd probably suggest that we should go three at the back, with a defensive midfielder sitting in front. Ollie Clarke would fit or I'd even suggest Partington for this role, but whoever has that defensive role needs to be no nonsense and not afraid to put their all into the tackle - A Dave Mackay for those as old as me.
I like all three players, but I'm worried that we cannot afford to play Lines, Sercombe and Bodin at the same time.

Lockyer Leadbitter and Lines should be dropped, and in Lines case for good. He is no good at this level. Harrison, send him out on loan to Yeovil or somewhere for a year and tell him not to come back.
DC, don't be so bloody arrogant and play players in their right positions. Also don't slag young players off after a game as you did at Corinthians. Telling anyone who cares to listen that they were sh*t impresses no one.

IMHO Partington, Burn and Clarke. Don't disagree but not convinced Burn isn't injured? Barely featured in preseason and hasn't even been on the bench yet this season has he?

If he is injured then I would stick with Lockyer. You could put James Clarke in there, but I've never been convinced by him. I'm similar to DC and like a right foot/left foot pairing so that rules out Broadbent. In an ideal world I would actually bring in another quality right footed CB.

Game No 3 Opponents Peterborough Home Lost 4-1 Team Performance Mark out of 10 Smith - Dodgy in air, distribution poor but couple good saves 5 Leadbitter - Defensively poor throughout, caught out of position and awful crossing 3 Lockyer - Poor start to season continues.Should be dropped 3.5 Sweeney - Gave the ball away causing sloppy second goal. Looks out of sorts. 4 Brown - Defensively poor and laborious. One great cross for goai 5 Bodin - Too many tricks that didn't come off, couple of good moments ,hit the bar 5.5 Lines - Does DC get him to play deep? An OK game but no real threat 5 Sercombe - The best of a poor midfield, was most likely player to score with long shots. 6.5 MOM Sinclair - Backwards and sideways is not good enough.Lacks any class and a waste on left 4 Harrison - Service was poor but didn't help himself and missed a sitter to make an undeserved 1-1 3.5 Nicholls - very poor first half. Second half a bit better without really threatening 4.5 Subs Gaffney - Brightened up the second half and scored with a far post header from accurate Brown cross 6 O Clarke - LOooked totally off the pace and didn't improve the team but all shape had been lost 3.5 Moore - Didn't really get into the game.Needed him to actually beat a man 4 Referee Almost as poor as our performance. Missed far too much. 4 Team performance summed up Defence summed up Pathetic from start to finish.Needed to learn to mark and pass a ball Midfields summed up Far too deeply set up with little width and ran into trouble far too often. Defensively went missing despite being deep. Attack summed Up - Punchless without a leader. best period when Gaffney came on Man of Match Liam Sercombe Crowd Let down in first League game again by mediocre performance following a summer where I would ask if DC has actually strengthened the team? I am not sure that we have replaced Montano, Easter or taylor but am prepared to give the new players longer. Final Comment New signings are needed and quickly or we will find ourselves firmly in the bottom third of the table. At least three quality players short and we need DC to be a bit brave and rest a few of the undroppables. With the stadium news this has been a disastrous start to the Campaign. This was the poorest I have seen for a long time and although if Harrison had put an easy chance away it would have been 1-1 and may have changed the game it would not have been deserved.. Peterborough - On the day far too good for us and gave us lessons in both personnel and tactics. Well worth the 4-1 win although in truth we gave them their goals with rank terrible defending. I agree with most of your player ratings but we finished tenth last season with basically the same team except we've lost Montano Easter and gained Sercombe and Nichols so are we really going to struggle now unless we bring three players in ASAP ? I'm not so sure, it's a bad start but I think this squad can finish 10th again.

Could work well actually, especially considering our lack of quality options on the left wing at the moment.

My summary, play players in their correct position, you don't pick your team based on who you think are the best performers, that's why we see disjointed performances, if we need a left winger target them. Broadbent was immense last week, cannot believe he was not even on the bench. We will improve but we need some more quality additions. "play players in their correct position" Spot on,great shout,,except Every player played in their natural position except sinclair for the first 25 minutes of the match after which dc played him central?
