At the moment, I cannot see a formation where you can include all of our best players. If you play a rigourous 4-4-2 you almost certainly need to leave out one of Lines or Sercombe. If you play a narrow 5-3-2, you almost have to leave out Bodin. If you play 5-4-1 we are left with only one up top, if you play 5-3-3 we seem to end up with Sinclair (arguably our main ball winner/presser) playing wide left. To my mind, our urgent need is to identify a system that we are comfortable playing with, without creating massive pressure on the defensive line. If we play 5-3-3, we're cheating! Worth a try though. Or we've forgotten to pick a keeper.

How could Leads not have been 100%? Played the whole 90mins. Totally mistimed that initial tackle - you don't dive in on the halfway line - run with the player, hold him up, wait for others to get in position, that's your job as a fullback!

Who are the one or two fluffy players dc is referring to in his post match interview? Taken literally it could mean stuart sinclair as he is very fluffy but obviously "fluffy" was in this case a metaphor for mentally bottling out v peterbro. Who do people think dc was on about? Prime candidates for me are danny leadbitter and chris lines and i dont think either will start at bury. Im not writing these 2 off by the way, just think dc wasnt impressed with their mental application on saturday. I don't think Danny was fully fit on Saturday. There's no way he would have been skinned for pace like their winger did him in the build-up to their first goal. As for Linesy, he can blow hot and cold. He just didn't seem on his game. Boro had also worked us out, and knew if they pressed us high Sinclair would effectively get pulled out of position chasing around after everything. Our biggest problem was that we didn't retain our shape and allowed them to dictate the he game. Do that and you've got problems. You might be right about danny being half fit but i think he lost heart and think he was one of the players dc thought was fluffy. Sinclair started on the left and dc switched him to right-centre and pushed lines very deep to combat there impressive front 3 so i totally disagree that he was pulled out of position etc. Our team has got used to playing out from the back and we do it pretty well often but i thought saturday we should have gone more direct as peterbro were picking our short passes off and putting us under pressure.

Anyone not up for the first home game of the season in front of almost 10k fans should be offloaded asap, not dropped, not cuddled, not fined, gone.

Point of my thread was that i was curious when dc said fluffy players and i felt danny and lines lost heart. I saw the same thing happen to danny at chelsea and i think dc subbed him off. I think both players were up for the game but danny lost a bit of heart when things went badly and i would argue that chris lines got frustrated by things and lost a bit of interest. It was unlike the charlton home thrashing last season when everyone still seemed energetic despite the score. Of course im just looking at body language etc and those 2 might not be who dc was on about?

I haven't been to any of the games yet but you would hope DC drops the 2-3 in question for the Bury game or else what signal does that send out?
