Believe it or not, the main talking point in the corridors of power on Saturday was that there are two potential suitors for our football club that have been made known to our owners.
I know a little of one of them, but absolutely nothing of the other. But the one I know a little of are serious players, and they would be looking to continue with the UWE development, as they don't believe the Mem is viable.
The most salient point in the conversation was the figure quoted to buy our football club was mentioned. So there is no doubt that whilst the offer was made correctly and privately to our owners, it has been relayed to others who are aware of much detail.
From my point of view, I hope that if our owners are not to pursue the UWE deal, then subject to no ridiculous stipulations from the UWE, this is treated seriously. This football club is to precious to too many of us to resign itself to forever being a lower league club, which I feel is what will happen unless we build a purpose built stadium.
And before certain individuals come out of the woodwork and say here he goes again, I would remind you that whilst I also broke news of a consortium last time, and got slagged off for being wrong, I wasn't wrong, it's just that the Al Qadis offer was completed before the people I was aware of were ready to go. This is not the case this time.
Interesting times, and I just hope we get what we need before I go to the Tote End in the sky.

The only thing I would say is, it would be interesting to know the asking price (and I wouldn't expect you to mention it if you knew btw) giving that I am sure the Al-Qadi's would want paying up

UWE isn't a viable option unless they change their demands and so I would prefer the AQ family based on what you've said.

Ah well, whatever's happening, I'm sure all the parties will be delighted to have little rumours and tidbits dripped across the forums and social media while it goes on.

No it's not. But if you were in the royal box area on Saturday, chances are you may have heard. A few well known people were talking about it. I heard of the price mentioned, and it stacks up.

Well if someone is interested in the UWE development they are going to have to get their skates on pretty sharpish as PP runs out in a few months.

TBH honest rather than raising false hopes perhaps this should just be kept quiet until a consortium is ever prepared to go public?
Although if there is any truth in the rumours then it's odd two consortiums apparently still feel the UWE is viable but the ALQ's clearly feel it isn't, or can't raise the funding if it is viable

Wael would never want to sell the club. The rest of his family? Who knows? If hani is so financially careful and stringent as he is reported to be, a good offer could tempt them.

Any idea if these consortia are UK based or from overseas?

Sorry but threads like this add no value whatsoever. Delighted for you that you dance in the 'Corridors of power' but how many more cracks do you want to see in our club. Are you deliberately trying to further split an already disenchanted fan base?
August has been awful so far and worse potentially still to come on the field... An ideal time to add further concerns and worry which I am sure does carry across to the manager and the team .... Well done you!!

But my point is that given the years we have taken to get nowhere fast it beggars belief that we can get anywhere fast in a few months

Yet more gasincider bullsh1t to get repeated on the terraces so that people like Topper can come back on here and say "It's true - a load of blokes on the terraces said so!" (Which, by the way, is a truth test no other allegation would withstand).
Gasincider has form now - He doesn't like what's happening with Rovers so the bullsh1t rumours start. This is just doubling down on his "Wael had no idea what the contents of the talks with UWE were". That one didn't stick so he's upped the ante.
See you in 100 pages of assumptions stated as fact.

FFS, it only gets worse, either name the people who are interested in buying the club or leave WAQ and DC to sort out the current predicament of developing the MEM, submitting planning permission to develop the field at almondsbury, convince Hani to pay some outstanding bills and most importantly bring in some youth loans from somewhere who can help prevent the team from being dragged into a dog fight at the bottom of Div 1, starting Saturday at Gigg Lane, talking drivel about some pie in the sky take over, IMO is not particularly helpful as we are 2 and O.
