Wael set it was something we were looking at during an interview on Points West last night.
Suspect there are a set of supporters who would prefer it over all seats, but perhaps not over a traditional terrace.

If it's cheaper than seats I'm sure we'll be interested

Makes sense! Tear down the Tent End - concrete the whole end as high as the locals will allow and add a roof - fill in the corners between each stand/ away terracing/ other Tent Stand and pile in the safe seating! Same for the Blackthorn End (well, the first tier at least!).
UTG.

But the BBC link is second hand and stuff we knew about after Waels interview. It's not new, the BBC only get stuff after it's posted on BRFC website or local radio, stuff we already know. It might be me but seeing that after the last week didn't really cheer me up! I'm a supporter of the owners but I think they need to give a fuller picture of their vision for the future and some kind of rough time scale. I don't expect it within days but it would be great to see it before the Autumn seeing as they've had a bit more time than just last Wednesday when it went wrong. They would have known the likely outcome of the UWE for some weeks if not months so I hope they're a little ahead of us. Just to get drip feed statements would be disappointing imo. I still believe in the owners but their side of the deal involves them delivering some kind of vision after most fans were being led to believe that the future was via UWE. UTG!

If it's cheaper than seats I'm sure we'll be interested Seriously must be at least twice the price of normal seating. Probably as much steel in the construction of safe seating than the rest of the stadium put together!

No need to get rid; stick a few hols in the tent, push up some supporting poles and add another tent-tier, job done

At the risk of being a killjoy, I don't think there's much requirement for it currently. Dortmund and (sometimes) have it for Champions League ties as it's a UEFA directive that all grounds MUST be all seater.
And though I'm ever the optimist, I'm not sure we're quite ready for European football yet...

This tends to suggest that what we've got now is, by definition, "Unsafe Standing".
Don't, for Chrst's sake let 'Elf 'n Safety know. They'll be demanding we cordon off the terraces, and stop anyone from using them.
It makes me laugh how in the Championship you get 3 years to convert to seats, yet in league 1, 2 the Conference and all other levels of football you can have terraces.
Are they in effect saying that the lives of supporters of all other clubs are of less value than Premiership team supporters, and after 3 years Championship supporters.?
When you look at it logically it just doesn't make sense.

We all know terracing can be made safe but they need to be seen to be making changes in response to past events.

It is a complete nonsense as you say and the reasons are well known now for why we have it but the lack of consistency in the leagues takes away the real need for it. It it's safe lower down it should be safe higher up, unless they are saying, as you've said, that lives in the lower league have less value than lives in the higher divisions. I'm pretty sure they are not saying that so it should be consistent through all the divisions. But we all know that the EFL, the PL and UEFA want to brand everything as being so safe that they won't consider standing areas. It's part of their "gentrification" of football over the past 25 years. They make it very expensive in this country so certain sections find it has been priced out of their ability to afford the game. A real shame. UTG!

Also we should consider safe standing outside the ground with the 1000s locked out, maybe a pasty hut out there as well?

Seems good to me as long as we have no aspiration to reach the Championship as safe standing would then need to be ripped up and replace with seating. Still it's all years away if ever so hard to get excited but gives Wael something to help deflect criticism.

It could be that the EFL/Premier league are aware that many fans already stand in seated areas...which may be more dangerous than a terrace. If Rovers were to put forward a plan for some "safe standing" in a moderate sized stadium.(20,000) The EFL may actually help the club achieve this ,so they can monitor how it goes. BRFC might actually be an ideal club not small but not too big to cause problems with huge terraces.
One end or the entire lower tier around the ground could be safe standing if the desire was there.
Im sure Wael has noticed how fans online have been talking about safe standing for years . That many fans at other clubs hark back to standing on a Kop behind a goal and much better the atmosphere was....
Within Bristol it would also offer new football fans a choice of standing at a game if they are choosing a club to follow.
