lMO Both Lockyer and sweeney had poor games last week, they will know that, l would not drop them for the Bury game
So, Broadbent was apparently our best player against Charlton and got dropped for the next game, both CBs awful the next game and keep their places?
This doesn't send out a good message to other players when players are picked based on reputation rather than current form.
(I know its not good to keep changing CB pairings but Broadbent must be wondering what he did wrong along with the fans)
Very true. I normally try to avoid criticising DC but I think if I had to find a flaw, one of them would be having his favourites and not letting others have a fair go at it.

I remember Boateng last season against Sheff Utd away was immense, MOM by a mile and even Sheff Utd fans commented on how good he was. Then from memory next game he was either on the bench or sat in the stands.
I know DC has each game as a 'project' but it must be demoralising for the player who is effectively punished after playing well.

Yes I remember that as well. I think the next game was at Northampton and everyone assumed he must've been injured because he wasn't even in the squad. At times I think the rotation policy can work well and I think that's a big factor in why we finish the season so strongly. But as you say, it must be demoralising for a player if they think they're never going to get a fair run in the team no matter how well they play, especially if someone else in the same position isn't playing particularly well but is one of DC's "undroppables".

Generally an ok performance from Tom, with a great goal. On occasion let down by poor distributionbut most worringly again lost his man at the set piece that led to a goal. ....still needs to do more!

And scored a goal on his 200th Gas appearance.
Only his third ever goal, and first since Valentine's Day 2015. we've won every game he has scored in
