Have got to say the youngsters look less than impressive, especially at the back.

I think O'shaugnessy and Holman are first team players for Cheltenham.
Will the Central league still be used to get first team players fit for us?

Gotta feel for the youngsters. DC was there watching as well.
As long as 1 or 2 develop into first team players results are not that important.

I'm sure they will be used, if needed. Partington and Ollie Clarke could have done with a game, would have made it slightly more even. Partington was rested on Saturday so he didn't play 3 games in one week and OC seems to be struggling for fitness/form so making them play 3 games in a week makes no sense. Although is this a a "reserve" or "development" league as if it's the former then why are the likes of Burn, Broadbent, Broom & Bola getting game time?

Sounds like defensive coaching is a huge gap in the club at the moment

There will be three first team squad players who do not step on the pitch each week for sure. D.C. could select 3 for each reserve game. C.H. can then brief them on how he wants them to take leadership on the pitch and how he wants them to help improve the players around them.
This not only helps strengthen the reserve team ,but helps the youngsters learn and teaches the first team squad members leadership and organisational skills. It should never be a case of sending players to the reserves because they are not good enough for the first team (punishment) but because they can develop their game and be of significant benefit to the club.

I was at the game today and it was clear that cheltenham had a more experienced side. Despite the score i thought the german forward dunwald did well for us as well as luke russe with cameron hargreaves our best player imo. It was a frantic game and our youngsters just seemed to be trying too hard to impress and made too many bad decisions in and out of possession. Rhys kavanah the young striker we payed compensation for had one of those days when it didnt really happen for him.
