My team of Rovers hardmen and subs would be:
Manager: Denis Rofe (salt of the earth, hard as nails)
Squad: Jim Eadie Jocky Larry Lloyd Billy Clark Vaughan Jones David Pipe Doug Hillard Alex Munro Bruno Bobby Jones Archie Stephens possible subs: Andy Tillson Lindsay Parsons Dave Pritchard
Any more ?

Not a "Hardman" in the sense of crunching tackles and kicking people, but he was a hard b*stard

Couple of changes for me ...
Billy Clark - Tom Stanton
Bruno - Alan Warboys
Ronnie Mauge and Frankie Prince should be included definitely.

No Frankie Prince? Probably the hardest midfielder I've seen play.

Many, many, many moons ago I played in a pre-season friendly for Mangotsfield v Rovers in Thornbury (Maundy Playing Fields??). During the game, I nutmegged Steve Harding, and with the confidence of youth, I gave it a very loud "LEGS!" shout. The crowd loved it and laughed and cheered. About thirty seconds later, when the ball was well away from us, I heard him whisper in my lughole, "do that again and I'll break your feckin leg!".
