Hamer is a liar remember and it's all Fake News Of course. It's a double-bluff and we received no offers for probably the best player in the division. He must think we're stupid 😂

As soon as the football world saw the Snake leave for £300,000 it was a signal to make tiny offers hoping to trigger a clause and get a player cheap. Until Rovers sell a player for big money OR publicly turn down a big offer from a named club its likely to continue. Expect a £100,000 offer for Lockyer in January.
Thanks snake you twat.

MT was different as he had us over a barrel, although getting £300K for him may look like good business if BB lives on a free next summer as there's no signs of him agreeing to extend his contract. Not sure what SH is on about re bench marks as didn't Roolfe leave for similar money the previous summer, the difference between Oxford and Rovers is they seem to tie their players down to long contracts, as nobody is going to pay big bucks for BB when they can get him cheap in January or even on a free next summer.

And we'd have had 10 players in, if it weren't for those meddling kids

It's pretty obvious that whoever made the offer was hoping to trigger a clause (which hopefully doesn't exist at all) at a value well below what BB is worth.

Well if the BBC story was to be believed £500,000 from a mystery championship club PLUS other clubs made offers. Which implies others tried much lower bids . Chancers.

Problem is when our players were crap we all moaned about them being on long contracts so then DC comes along we only offer short deals and they turn out be brilliant and then we can't keep them because they're contracts are running out lol

The short contract policy helped get us back into league 1 without a doubt in my view. Of course there have been downsides with taylor and maybe bodin but remember we got billy on a 2 year deal not so long after a serious injury so it wasnt obvious at the time to offer him a 3 year deal. Were in different territory now with smith, slocombe, nicholls and sercombe as i dont think any of them would have signed 1 year deals. Same with o clarke, lockyer, brown, sinclair and maybe lines. Some will disagree im sure.

BB's been here 3 years, his 2 year extension was a full year after he returned from his knee injury. www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/2016/june/new-deal-for-billy-bodin/Although if we offered him another new 2 year contract this summer and he didn't sign it there's little the club can do about it.

Yes it was i know,it was after a good 2nd half of a season in league 2 and a whole year after his injury. At the time 2 years made perfect sense imo.
