Is the England B side still going or has that been disbanded ? If it has been disbanded would love to see it reintroduced allowing lower league players a chance to represent their country instead these airy fairy superstars on 50k plus a week. I'd rather watch a B side made up of lower league players than the current national team as you know the lower league players would give their all and show pride in representing the national side. Half the players playing for the national side don't take pride in wearing the England Shirt and what it represents. Just my thoughts
And yes England were very poor but nothing new there

We'd need a proper manager to manage them too of course.

Does anyone actually give a genuine F##k about England? They clearly couldn't care less. I wish we had some kind of State of Origin style thing where we could get behind a West Country team who would give a sh** and therefore so would we. I assume most people on this forum are local and I'm curious whether you feel any connection to people in Newcastle or Liverpool or Lincoln. I'm connected to my homeland the West Country but not to some abstract notion of "England". And yes, as a matter of fact I have had a drink.

Until the last 3 minutes, that game was like watching Rovers in the not too distant past with Mitch Harding up front. I was having depressing flash backs.

Can't remember the last time I watched an England game in full.
I grew up when we had some talent in the side through the 80's and 90s, except 93-94.
None of the England squad seem to wear the shirt with pride anymore. It's all tippy tappy football as well. Does my head in.

I don't get why people travel to watch this rubbish, can't be for the football, it wastes enough time having it on the tele. Until Uefa restructure, which they won't, then qualification is a non event. It's the one good thing about not going higher than league one, it would be well annoying to be missing football for this. To sing about drinking all the beer and not wanting to go home, cringe. The fans embarrass me as much as the players. And sing the national anthem at 100mph so they are done before it's even half way through.

Des walker, Tony Adams, Stuart Pearce, Paul Gascoigne, Paul Ince, David Platt, Chris waddle, John Barnes, Alan Shearer, Les Ferdinand, Ian Wright, Teddy Sheringham would all walk into this current squad. This is easily the worst England squad in my lifetime, we are lucky that we keep getting drawn in water easy groups which are impossible to not qualify from.

GGMI are you beginning to soften? Your normally the first to criticise anyone starting a non Rovers related thread here requesting it to be moved to general sport chat. One rule for one I suppose.
Have to agree though England are totally sh**e.

Have to agree though England are totally sh**e. I thought about moving it, but everyone seemed to be getting on so well, united in whining about the England players, that I thought I should let it go. And yes, England are tedious, annoying sh**e.

The premiership has a lot to answer for but there never seems to be any team spirit or pride in representing their country. It always feels like a team of mercenaries just going through the paces with old pro pundits giving undeserved plaudits to players who are the journeymen of international football at best. Those who pay money to travel and watch these games must see something I'm missing.

[ I've been saying this for years - I think that what what such a team lacked in so-called "quality" they would more than make up for in fight, determination and pride in the shirt . . .

Admittedly England are poor but international football is just sh*t these days, I dread the international break and can't wait for it to be over.
They need to change the system because international football is on its arse at the minute. I don't care about watching England because we either play sh*t teams in competitive games or decent teams in friendlies, either way it doesn't interest me. They need to find a way that better teams play eachother competitively on a more regular basis than once every two years.
In any other sport, internationals are the pinnacle that everybody wants to watch, whereas in football nobody cares, it needs to change.
