Well said, to many quick to point the finger when they need to look at the wider picture !! And what is "the wider picture" after such a dire performance. No excuses for poor team set up, selection and performance - it was shambolic and embarassing end of. There absolutely is a bigger picture. We were without 3/4 of our first choice defence, two of our midfielders were uncharacteristically below par, went to a very difficult place to visit and got beat. We move on to next week and I'm sure we'll bounce back. Positives - Ellis is stringing together a number of consistently good performances. Vital experience for Broadbent, who will learn fast. Nichols looked sharp. Negatives - Burn not up to it at the moment (though worth remembering he is only 22). Sercombe and Ollie Clarke played poorly. Bodin needs to improve his defensive game. Leadbitter looked rusty, Moore looks ineffective.

We lost a match we expected to lose with two key players out. One we might have expected to lose even if those two key players had been in.
Thank god DC didn't read the forum a few weeks ago and agree with everyone who decided Ellis should be removed as soon as possible.

Yes Burns inexperience was exploited by Bradford . Come on though, no need to crucify the lad. How many first team games has he played ?
Im still not convinced that Lines and Sercombe in the same midfield give enough strength defensively especially away from home.

We were poor defensively today that's clear for everyone to see but do people really think writing off players after 1 or 2 games is fair ? Thank God DC doesn't do the same as we'd probably have got rid of Taylor after a month of the conference season & Bodin half way through the league 2 campaign. Harrison off the hook now best move on to a new scapegoat Burn & Moore look like the early favourites.

To be honest no I don't, I genuinely think had he been out of contract in the summer he'd have been released & we'd have kept Montano. My point really was that people tend to write players off before they've really had a chance. Maybe Moore was a poor example but Burn is 22 & has hardly played so think he deserves a bit longer before he's deemed not got enough

Hopefully And is it any wonder Leadbitter was rusty since he's been injured and thrown straight back in he will be lacking fitness only games can give Moore did look lightweight Again it's the 2nd September now isn't really the time to judge Things will improve

IMO it is unfair to simply blame Burn,Braodbent and Moore, DC says "we win and lose as a team" the team were generally awful all over the pitch apart from Ellis and Bill.

Moore will be released next summer. If he continues to be poor I reckon DC will give him the old"You no longer feature in my plans and are free to look for a new club" routine in December whilst signing the left winger he missed out on in the window just gone.

Surely if we missed out on the left winger DC was after, he has signed for another club and therefore will not be available in January. Equally if we were unable to sign him last week, why would we then be able to in January if he is still with his original club. I personally think we have shown a total lack of ambition in our signings when quite clearly we need at least three more , a midfielder, left winger and big centre forward of the type that destroyed us yesterday, as it's quite clear to me Harrison and Gaffney are not that type.

After that display dc and the team should put their hands in their pockets and compensate everyone that travelled to Bradford it was a long early journey to watch a very poor display regardless of who was missing

I can't believe we offered our targets clubs enough money. I'd love to know who they were out of interest. who are the clubs/ players say ing no.. DC probably doesn't have that much to spend or struggles to do it by himself. I don't know who is responsible for buying players, DC supposedly has names on a bit of paper. but do think DC now would benefit from a respected DoF and someone operational.

A Director of football may see D.C. walk .he may see it as his position being undermined. D.C. sees himself as director of football. Like has been said ,he handed the club a list of players he would like Rovers to try and sign. First second and third choices. If I were to guess I would say that the early signings were probably first choice players for a position and the longer the summer went on the lower down the list the club went. That's not to say a third choice player is not a good player. Put Neymar ,Suarez and Messi in order and then decide if third choice is a bad player

Rovers seem to lose when playing away at the big grounds in front of big crowds i.e. Portsmouth, Bradford, Bolton, Charlton. Our players seem to be overawed by the occasion or have stage fright. I don't know if it's because most of our players haven't experienced it or whether it's a mentality thing, but we just don't cope well in these type of games.
