I disagree I think we have got depth we've got a big squad and all but one or two are up to league 1 football. I do agree that if wed signed 3 more quality signings we'd be pushing even more for top six but then the same could be said about every squad in this division. I think we'll win both our upcoming home games and that will put us nicely up in the top half and many on here who are saying we're not good enough now will be talking about promotion. We'll see. If we compare like for like at this time last season - without thinking too hard we've lost - Taylor, Easter, Montano, Mansell, Mildenhall, Hartley, McCrystal and 4 young Premiership loanees & a goalkeeper from Derby. The only position/player that is probably stronger now, compared to that particular time is midfield (Sercombe) and probably the goalkeeper. The squad is smaller than this time last year. It'll be interesting to see where we are after 10 games. I'm pretty sure we took 7 points from our first 7 games last year, I think we'll be 10 or 12 points from 7 this season judging from what I've seen so far. I think we're as good as last season maybe better but certainly not worse but as I've said it's very early days. UTG

UTG Our problem is the like of Bury, on paper at least, seem to have made bigger strides than us this summer, plus LW appears a concern. We've two winnable looking home games, it'll be interesting to see where we after those two games, along with the feeling on the forum, suicidal or back talking about a Play Off spot!

But partington has played virtually all his games in his career at right-back??Maybe play ellis at left-back and lee brown as a striker as well? Or maybe something left field like stick with ollie clarke? Why sprout nonsense w/o doing any homework to back up your facts? JP played most of his game in midfield prior to his move to Eastleigh were he played most of his game there as a central defender, when DC signed him he suggested he could play in a couple of roles. Perhaps CM is now too bigger a step for him but there seems no other options if OC is struggling to regain fitness/form and Sincs is out for a few more games. Eddie H converted Joe P into a CH and he played many games in that position. Never played midfield for Bournemouth after that. But before the conversion he did play midfield. Never really kept in touch with what he did all the time at Eastleigh but thought it was CH. UTG!

Parts signed for Eastleigh on loan to play as a CH and had a few decent games there. he moved over to right back against Lincoln City as both other RB's were injured and he had a blinder. Richard Hill kept him there after that, as did the 25 other managers Eastleigh have had since then. Martin Allen did play him centre mid for a few games as he knew he could spray the ball around from either foot. It's great to see he's settled at Rovers and is playing well. We knew he would.

Thinking the unbelievable a Gaffney - Harrison forward line - would be great to see - both guys in form this season.
Anyone hear any news about Sinclair ? presume he might be missing for a couple more weeks.

Im sure he's going to prove a few miserable Gasheads wrong this season. He's getting stronger as his fitness improves. He is too accomplished on the ball not to do well.
