I repeat. What we do know is that had the existing board remained the club would have had to abandon the UWE project as it stood due to the reduced funds the Mem sale would bring in.
The deal was not in writing.
Thus new owners would rightly think due to this they would be able to renegotiate a better deal for the football club. It may well be that a lot more was conceded to UWE than was at first revealed to the new owners ,it may be they knew all the original deal.
The UWE was dead. The new board tried to resurrect it. That didn't happen. The UWE is dead.
Next plan.
The obvious is to look into a rebuild at the Mem. During this time and into the future the search for a new site should still happen.
edit:spelling.

That's it in a nutshell Hugo, we know very little. We don't know anything apart from the withdrawal from the UWE. We know what Wael has said about the UWE "moving the goalposts," but nothing else. All the rest is conjecture, rumour and supposed recycled informormation from those allegedly itk. No factual information has been given so fans are left to speculate and boy can BRFC fans speculate! To be fair to the owners they have done what they said they would do through evolution and the fact that there has been no information should mean that things haven't changed but the UWE was massive news that the owners have miscalculated the reaction to. But even then when I say the reaction I'm talking about 100 (?) people on the forums who have been left puzzled, perhaps most others have said "b***** it, who are we playing Saturday?" and then moved on. So perhaps not a great number. I have said that the owners need to come out and give a statement about their vision/plans for a new ground, the position of the training ground and an idea about the future and as the weeks go on the need grows. As a fan I live in hope, not expectation. UTG! and it is the hope that is killing me. We have to face up to reality. The Mem will never be rebuilt completely. The numbers just do not add-up. NH knew that, and so do the AQ's. The Mem will only ever be a sh1t football stadium. If we do really well, we may have the odd season in the Championship, but we won't be able to stay there. The Colony may well be our new training centre, but it won't match anything else that is being mentioned. Cat 2 is just not going to happen. Where is the funding? Nothings going to change. But how long will the EFL let us continue playing at the Mem in it's present state? Sooner or later most grounds even in Div 1 will be all seater, or at least have the majority as seating, either Wael has to come up with some genuine plans for the Mem PDQ or just accept the challenge is too big for him and move on.

Agree Topper.Only Barnet ,Wimbledon and Accrington have grounds as bad as ours.Bristol is such a thriving City compared to many-such as Stoke- and yet year after year, season after season,we put up with the embarrassment of the Mem-tents and all.

New owners would have a 10 million pound debt straight away, before even thinking about anything else.

It's pretty depressing isn't it! If I dared I'd play the Four Tops' classic 'It's The Same Old Song With A Different Meaning Since Higgs Been Gone.' But I won't.

Yes it is the hope that kills! But perhaps I'm more optimistic, one day it will happen, we will get a new ground but I doubt I'll be around to see it. (By the way I have no evidence to support this assertion!) The numbers don't look as if they add up and the vacuum of information and communication at the moment isn't helping and what you've said is all fairly true. But it is Friday and the world usually looks better on Fridays!!😀 UTG!

but all things being equal, how long would the next guy get, or the next guy, or the next guy The reality is that it needs a huge injection of capital to get the club moving. Evolution not Revolution only works if you can increase your income, and I can't see that happening.

Whi is queueing up to chuck loads of money at all this if the Al-Qadi's leave?
Where are the lesser spottedother consortiums that are supposed to be riding to the rescue desperate to build UWE for nothing in return?

If you look at the UWE stadium...what did it have that would bring in income ? Were those things so gigantic they could not happen at the Mem site ?
The funding was based on the funders getting a certain return over a certain time frame. So long as this can still happen the funding source wont change.
What project has Bristol been pimping for years unsuccessfully ? the arena. Build a stadium with a sliding roof and the arena issue is mostly solved. Bristol council breathe a sigh of relief and the club get a big income source. The arena was going to be 10-12000 I think ,which would be just about right for the New Mem. Maybe its not possible...maybe it is ?
There is no evidence that future funding is not there or that a good stadium plan can not be developed for the New Mem.

BRFC (along with a large % of other clubs im sure) need someone to come in who can who has serious cash to inject on and off the pitch, or else we are no better off than when we had Higgs imo.
I'd love to know the real reasons Wael took over.

Because everyone from GD, NH and the AQ's have said in the past that staying at the Mem is unsustainable if we want the club to progress. The income streams are just not there, so getting investment for large scale improvements are also not there. How can you have a Bristol Arena at the Mem? I think the Mem is allowed to have two concerts a year because it's bang in the middle of a load of houses!

So you are not prepared to accept what Wael said his reasons were for buying the club? You quite obviously don't believe what he said, perhaps you could let us all know what you think his reasons for purchasing BRFC are.
