Bearing in mind I might be opening another can of worms here and this has been talked about on the Walsall matchday thread, 5 supporters were ejected from the ground yesterday: www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/2017/september/09.09.17---a-message-from-our-safety-officer/I'm sad that there are people who make racist comments, but I'm proud that there are supporters who won't tolerate it and have the balls to report it to a steward. As for the people taking drugs, I'd like to think that is a very rare occurance and an example like this will put others off.

You omit the drunken one. Never can understand why being paralytically drunk enhances the matchday experience. Must be missing out.

Depends on the individual, i'm very lucky in that i'm a happy drunk and when i'm paralytic it heightens the senses(for me anyway) , same way as some drugs will, wonder how many people who decry such stuff have never taken drugs or got glued up on the tote. If yer going to get stoned it's pretty daft to do it in front of others

When you are teenager or a bit older - we all did this once or twice, didn't we ? There was a time at bath when I never watched a Saturday game sober; did it make me a bad person? Probably not, it was part of our matchday ritual. Cab booked for 14:45 from the Park Tavern - happy days

There's nothing wrong with a few beers before the game, I find it relaxes me or otherwise I get too nervous! Mind you when we were in the conference I needed a few more, in fact that season nearly turned me into an alcoholic!

How did the guy actually get paralytic during the game? If he was that watered before the game then surely he should have been refused entry through the turnstiles. If he was sober, or tipsy, on entering the ground then he has become watered during the game. So who is really at fault here? The person who got ejected, the turnstile operator for letting him in, or the club for serving him so much alcohol that he couldn't stand? Maybe it's the fault of the mild mannered janitor, aka Hong Kong Phooey!

I have no idea of the guy who was ejected for 'alcohol' related reasons but when the guy fainted in the north terrace, a very drunk guy got rowdy with the steward's for not responding to calls. He ran down to voice his opinion and wasn't seen again.

There was a group of young lads sbout 15-17 years old who were queuing behind me to get in and the youngest one was absolutely shitfaced right in front of the steward a couple of people said to the steward that he shouldn't be let in and the steward just shrugged his shoulders and said " it's got nothing to do with me" I do wonder what the club pay them for. Once through the turnstiles the group were walking in front of me and the hammered one was smashing his fist against the shutters in the walk way and stumbling around like he was going to collapse. I wouldn't be surprised he if was one of those ejected. We've all had too much to drink from time to time but this lad was too young to be that watered and should never have been allowed in the ground.

A few years ago, Scrappydoo was stood at the front in blazing heat and came over funny. Few seconds later he hit the floor. Couldn't get a steward with a brain to understand what was wrong so my mate had to run to the corner of the Blackthorn and East terrace and shout across to the St Johns Ambulance people who came and attended to him. Turns out Scrappydoo's sugar levels had gone through the floor and they instructed my mate to run up to the pasty hut for a coca cola, a mars bar and a sausage roll to repair the damage. Thankfully the sausage rolls were edible back then! Stewards in orange jackets are useless. Rant over.

The guy was useless, people were waving for assistance and the guy was in his own little world. Eventually a couple of stewards and medical staff arrived, helped the guy out and once gone the useless steward arrived.

I seem to be missing something edotb.
What do you class as banter? Racial Abuse, people not getting the assistance they deserve or drug taking?

Allegedly they have some good evidence to back up the charge I know the person who was ejected and i can assure you he is not racist, so it must be pretty dam good evidence to prosecute ( won't happen IMO ) My understanding is that the person was spoken to, but did not think that there was anything wrong with what he had said. The people who reported it do not wish to see him banned or prosecuted, hopefully the club can provide a little education as to terminology which was used in the 70's not being acceptable these days, and he'll take it on board.
