Wow! What paranoia there is among supporters these days. These lads asked for a meeting to air their questions because none of them were answered at the open meeting. Chris Jelf offered them a chance to meet up and they took it. If you're really feeling left out, why don't you all ask Mr Jelf for a meeting and see what he says? Can't believe there is so much reaction on here. Btw, work prohibits me from going to many games, particularly now I've moved away from Bristol after four years commuting up the M4. Does this mean I've relinquished my right to be a Rovers supporter and ask questions of the board too?

Hugo, the difference is that the S/c questions were asked openly by anyone who cared to be there. Then Mark says 'we will hopefully reveal some info to you soon' . This implies that info not in the public domain is potentially to be revealed. There IS no revelation if we already know the detail. He represents a handful of people who can't be bothered to attend an official meeting . What a bloody joke. No. This is a disgrace. It is like the start of a civil war between fans groups, and it's being stirred up by the directors. Until this is stopped by NH, I will no longer be buying 50/50 tickets etc. the club don't deserve the extra if this is how it's going. Wonder what BSS thinks of this? It's BRISA /Welly that is actively trying to get a different rep onto the clubs board. To me, this means they really don't like having Brian on the board, which also tells me that he is the perfect person to have on the board. If they don't like him he must be asking very awkward questions of them. What could the unknown info be? If it's delivered to a couple of people who represent three men and a dog in a pub, why aren't the rest of us able to share in it? Tilly's thighs. Why should we wait till someone who refuses to go to matches decides it's time to tell us minions what we should know? They don't represent the fans in any meaningful way. They have an axe to grind with the club and two directors fall for it. Was it with NH's permission? Can the supporters club have a private meeting as well? It's time this clubs directors started acting in the clubs best interests, not cow towing to a few guys full of their own self importance. I'd suggest that the S.C start withholding some of the £100,000 or so they raise annually for the club. Then perhaps the club might start showing OUR reps the respect they deserve. Remember, we are the only real asset the club has. Can they afford to p*ss off any more of us? This is a classic divide and rule tactic, and the board must not be allowed to get away with it. If that is the SC response, that is laughably ironic

You're on the wrong conspiracy thread mate. No conspiracy accusations from me Hugo.
Just a straightforward question, now that our fans rep has come out from under cover.

Hugo do you really think they would have told us anything at all if they had not be seen?

I suppose it depends on the point of the meeting.
If it were something other than the Q and A meeting and a meeting of minds then why do it in the welly?
If it were for some clandestine thing that we should not have been told about then why not just have the meeting at the Mem?
My problem is that I play with a straight bat. Ask me a question, you get an honest answer. Not everyone in life is the same. Maybe you are right to trust the voices in your ear?

I've lost the plot on this thread tbh. I mostly think that it's some Rovers fans who organised a group that all want the best for the club had a meeting with two club reps. Anything more or less? Exactly this Parsons !! I am sad to read some fellow Gasheads throwing their toys out of their prams and others continuing to have a go at me - Are you not grown up people FFS !!!

Mark, when are you going to summarise the answers to the questions. This is surely the only way to respond rather than criticising people. People only keep secrets if there is something to hide. You have repeatedly asked for honesty, openness and dialogue. It would be very hypocritical to do anything else now without extremely good reason

Here is a little more background to the circumstances of the meeting:
Following our two meetings at the Wellie we had put together some questions which we had been assured would be answered at the Nick Higgs' Q & A. We know that none of our specific questions were answered, though of course other answers covered some of the topics. After the meeting I spoke with Chris Jelf and he suggested that I rang him and that we meet up. It took a while to arrange this but eventually we arranged to meet last night. I asked Jon and Bernard to come along, but unfortunately Jon was unable to make it. I thought it a good idea to also ask Richard and Tom from BRISA and they also attended. We were surprised when Ed Ware also turned up. We spoke for about a couple of hours, and we put before them all the concerns raised at our meetings. They were hardly surprised by anything we said. They appeared to be very frank and open. The difficulty is that they often spoke from a personal viewpoint. The best thing to say is that Chris Jelf offered to attend any meeting we should arrange. It then might be a good idea to arrange an open meeting later on in October. The Wellie marquee has gone, so we will look for another venue.
We can only stress that they are now fully aware of our concerns and we should go full steam ahead for an open meeting when people can talk directly to them. As I mentioned previously this can potentially be end of October. It is also possible that other directors will come. I hope all of you will welcome this. A chance to continue putting pressure on the board where that's necessary, opportunities to ask questions and hear what the board are currently doing, and as I also mentioned the POSSIBILITY of forming help groups ( nobody HAS TO get involved if you feel the club is not responding to us appropraitely.
Finally, I wish to stress that we have been honest in our activities. We only felt (our own idea) that THIS time a smaller group would finally enable THE Wellie GRoup and BRISA to get their concerns over to the club. Even in this small group it was sometimes a struggle to get our views across. I personally would say that I wish they would LISTEN more/allow us time to ask questions/follow -up ones too, during these events/meetings rather than persuing their agenda for conversation, but I can say it was a helpful evening. I hope October's will be even better and also well-attended open to SC members /non-members alike !!

As for insinuating that Mark does not attend games, well that is absolute poppycock. I spoke to him the other Saturday at the Mem.
Manners will stop me commenting further on the subject
