Was that Andrew Evans? Or am I getting confused with Micky Barret? Yep Andrew Evans a great little player, I can still see that horrible tackle now dirty bastard! Eastville? Running down the right wing towards the Tote? Leg break? I was only 5 or 6 but I remember that.

A real class act, such a shame his career was cut short by horrific injuries. Could've gone right to the top.

As a kid I thought Andrew Evans our Welsh winger was immense, career ruined by injury. Yep I agree he was class, I remember that day it was right in front of us. That dirty bastard left back David Peach of Southampton, you could clearly see it was a bad break and that prick was laughing! I'm pretty sure that was the end for him, I may be wrong but I don't think he ever played after the that? Remember the game. Tackle happened right in front of the North Enclosure. AE was a great little player. I would also add to the list Kenny Stephens- he walked on water.

Surprised nobody has mentioned Nathan 'The Duke' Ellington yet.

Junior Agogo? ? I heard some great stories about him at the Blue Diamond lunch last week.

We had 2 players sent off, Agogo upfront on his own, he virtually played them by himself. An outstanding display full of pace and power. They couldn't handle him. I'm pretty sure that was the game where lickle Lee Johnson was raving about the atmosphere, describing it as "Galatasaray-like."

I think AE sustained his injury in the 1977/78 season in the October of '77 fixture which ended 0-0. I was in the Tote End and my brother was in the North Enclosure and said the tackle and injury was horrible.

If he wouldn't of had his injuries, I've no doubt he would if been a top Premier League player and would have numerous England caps.

He played for England at youth level and I think he turned down Alex Ferguson/Manchester United to sign for Norwich at one point. Like you said, I'm sure he would have been a prem regular and had numerous full England caps if he hadn't had those injuries.

One of the stories involved that game (and as I remember it we were 2-0 down at one stage as well as being reduced to 9 men). Apparently, JA was never the brightest spark when it came to reading the game situation and, when asked afterwards why he took the ball into the corner towards the end of that game instead of setting up another attack, he said he thought we were 3-2 up. It made me laugh anyway

I am not sure it is correct for you to blame it on the wrong man.
