Your back!!!!!,where have you been. I've been in hospital for the last four months, following a heart problem on my return from holiday in the USA.
Apparently I was given 24/36 hours but pulled through but now have to learn to walk again following been in a bed for three months. I have been watching this forum and now realise how trivial some of the threads are, there are a lot more important things in life.
Although I renewed my season ticket, I have not seen a game so far this season. Perhaps by Christmas I will be able to return that may halt my progress.
Awaiting a phone call on tonight's AGM. I know there are a few interesting questions lined up!!!!!!!!
I hope you are on the mend, take it easy one day at a time. UTG

A question we'll never be able to answer but if the deal was so bad why did Wael spend 18 months discussing it the UWE, you have to assume at some point a deal seemed likely or we would have called off talks earlier and also not spent a fortune on Currah/Lewis fees along with the feasibility study, which apparently suggested the project was feasible, although I guess it's easy to still blame NH for everything. A question for you what would the UWE gain by sending Rovers to the wall and then having a 22,000 seat stadium stuck unused on their campus, I can't see the attraction myself. Wael was well up for it. Big brother dragged the deal from under his feet. Not sure I'd be too happy if my kid brother wanted to spend all the families savings on his own hobby!!

See my point regarding cheaper option. They will only move if provided with a ready built alternative offering the best rugby facilities in Bristol. Doubt they be willing to swap their site for a site turned down by Dings. Also begs the question why the owners didn't seek to acquire the sunlife ground next door when it was available? Why do the rugby club need to move out? I assume like most amateur rugby clubs the ground is not used during the week day and we wouldn't need to use it during the evenings/weekends, it could be the perfect, cheap, option. Although I'm not aware of many football clubs sharing rugby grounds for a training facility. Clifton Rugby club are loss making. If it was not for the contract with the NHS for off site parking for Southmead Hospital they would be in serious trouble. With all the new car parks at Southmead now there is no need for off site staff parking. They are pushing for the revamped Henbury Station car parking when it opens up as part of the Henbury Loop line. They also now have a massive problem with the restricted street parking near the club ground with many of the roads having Anti Parking plastic walls in place Clifton Ground would be a perfect place to have an enhanced academy and facilities and the rugby club could still use the stadium on match days Just my opinion and NO evidence to back up Rovers are interested

On the evidence of the colony they seem to be struggling to do one let alone two. Keep pumping the rumour Henbury

What the rumour or the water take That smilies were unambiguously indicative of a certain tone or meaning, instead of just messy punctuation that could mean virtually anything. :homo:

TBH there's no evidence of anything, The Colony story is now following the UWE saga, lots of promising talk but ultimately not the result we wanted. If the ALQ's are prepared to spend £m's at The Colony & the Mem why have they left DC struggling with just a mid table budget this season.

So what you're saying is not to have ambitions and just except lower level. You see so many smaller clubs like Burton who are better than us. Sorry that's a losing mentality in my opinion. No, that's not what I'm saying at all. What I'm saying is that people shouldn't throw all their toys out of the their prams and behave like spoiled children calling our manager inept when we have only just got back to the position we have been in for most of our existence. Those people need to get a f**king grip. I wonder Hugo if you share my amusement at grown men who should know better behaving like kiddies? "We bloody lost, so I'm going to lash out at everything in sight." I knew one guy said if he won the lottery, he'd give it to Rovers. Doubt has wife would have agreed....

Very bold statement Topper - I challenge you to show and prove what the budget is for this season of all the football clubs in our division - only then will we know how far up the scale we are - do you even know what our own Club's budget is?
