I didn't sample the new grub yesterday as the queue for the SW stand pasty hut was ridiculously long when I arrived. Will hopefully get a chance to try next time.
Great to hear all the rave reviews though.
Just out of interest had the prices gone up?

Great to hear all the rave reviews though. Just out of interest had the prices gone up? The price of a pie was £3.90 which is a bit of a rise on the pasty, but the interesting bit is that Brighton apparently sell the same pies for £4.50 and they don't have to be transported a fraction of the distance. Therefore I would guess that this is an introductory price to allow it compete with the Cornish products.... It's gonna be interesting to see how this unfolds because there were still loads of people buying pasties yesterday, I guess there might be a silent majority.... My only gripe really in all of this is that I loved the chicken curry pies which disappeared about 3 years ago.... 2 quid and bloody lovely

I wanted a sweet potato one but they were gone at 2:50 in the North Terrace.
Didn't experience these long queues or slow service I've read so much about on here, and the steak & ale one I got was hotter than the sun so took me ages to be able to enjoy it.
It's almost like people were looking for something to be offended at...

All Scrappy Doo wanted was a sausage roll but none of the 3 huts behind the Blackthorn had any left at 2:30pm. Why they can't put a sign up to say what they've sold out of is beyond me. I don't mind being told they haven't got any sausage rolls but I get watered off having to queue for ages to then be told that they sold out ages ago. I guess they really must have been quality sausage rolls if they sold out that quick so I'll try again next home game.

Sounds like the new company did well.
I've no experience of the catering industry apart from eating too much, but I struggle to get my head round how a league 1 club deals with matchday catering from huts etc.
I mean how do you know how much of each product you need to order to sell? If you don't have enough you water people off, if you have too many you have a load of wastage and eats into your profits.
Must be a headf**k to try and get right

Tried to buy one yesterday but the queue as usual too long at half time. The club really need to speed up service in their kiosks as they are losing revenue every match

£3-80 for a pie seems to be a bit high even for a football match. The Curry one was very nice but I think a bit pricey and won't bother next time.

Good point GGMI just think that £3 would be a fair price for what you are getting.

Great to hear all the rave reviews though. Just out of interest had the prices gone up? I was in the East Terrace yesterday and was only looking to get a drink. Assumed with the new contactless system the transaction would take about 20 seconds or so. They clearly weren't prepared for quick card payments and proceeded to pour it out from a bottle, taking much longer than it should have. The queue was long at this point. A bit schoolboy not to have pies, drinks ready to go given the high volume of transactions in a short period of time. Work to be done I think.

There's plenty of work needed on all aspects of what goes on in the ground regarding drinks, food and generally bringing us into the current Centuary, but we'll get there, hopefully.

The steak and ale pie for me was not as good as the previous one, the pastry was too hard, the filling was good and was tasty but not nowhere near as nice as the pie I had at the last home game. I do hope that they will listen to all of the fans comments. I do have to ask the question of why did they change from the previous pies? Balti pie next time. UTG
