All Scrappy Doo wanted was a sausage roll but none of the 3 huts behind the Blackthorn had any left at 2:30pm. Why they can't put a sign up to say what they've sold out of is beyond me. I don't mind being told they haven't got any sausage rolls but I get watered off having to queue for ages to then be told that they sold out ages ago. I guess they really must have been quality sausage rolls if they sold out that quick so I'll try again next home game. I went and got one around thirty minutes into the half, they maybe cooked more or you went to the wrong hut. Absolutely banging, £3 and more meat than pastry - waaaay better than the pasties!

I didn't sample the new grub yesterday as the queue for the SW stand pasty hut was ridiculously long when I arrived. Will hopefully get a chance to try next time. Great to hear all the rave reviews though. Just out of interest had the prices gone up? I was in the East Terrace yesterday and was only looking to get a drink. Assumed with the new contactless system the transaction would take about 20 seconds or so. They clearly weren't prepared for quick card payments and proceeded to pour it out from a bottle, taking much longer than it should have. The queue was long at this point. A bit schoolboy not to have pies, drinks ready to go given the high volume of transactions in a short period of time. Work to be done I think. A couple weeks ago I queued for 10 Minutes before the game. it felt like a lifetime. I also am one to just abuse the contactless card system now... but not at the Mem... after queing for 10 minutes, after finally getting to 1st position, it turn out that the workers had not a clue how to use the scanner, so with no change on me either I had to walk back to my spot empty handed.

I love using contactless payments and I'm a bit of an arsehole for making them use the machine. They very rarely know how to use it and you feel like you've ruined their day and everyone else's in the queue when you ask to pay contactless.

So after a season of new pies, what’s everyone’s thoughts?
I’ve enjoyed them every time I’ve had a chance to have them. It’s more the wait times and poor customer service that puts me off having them more often.

I normally have a steak pie & so far every time its been very good quality although sometimes slightly overcooked.
The main problem is the queuing time which seems to be made worse by the length of time it takes to prepare drinks for those that have ordered them.

FFS why do they have to keep bloody changing what pies they sell. No chicken and gammon pies. For all the focus that's gone into it the food stalls are still a shambles. 2 games out of 3 they sell out of pasties. The figures must be fairly typical from match to match how could they possibly under-cater?

I’ve queued up four times for a pasty this season and eaten one. Haven’t bothered for months. Waste of time.
