Grimsby Town had a reasonable conference budget. P.H. spent it all on his first 11...with a loan or two and a few weaker players. They did well for several seasons eventually gaining promotion. P.H. when interviewed on TV talked about his limited size squad and how Rovers had a big strong squad for the league. P.H. is a good manager..one I had hoped would be a candidate for the Rovers job if D.C. left.
P.H. most likely is doing the same at Shrewsbury. Strong 11 with little depth.
D.C. works on a strong big squad...hence why Rovers do better as the season goes on. Suspensions ,injury and form weaken the other teams who do not have the competition in the squad.
At league one D.C. does not have the strong big squad he likes and needs. Constant tactical and personnel changes through the season is his game. As you climb the leagues it costs more money to have a big strong squad. Could Rovers actually provide D.C. with the sort of money needed for his tactics to work ? I suspect the club needs to nearly double the budget for D.C. to have the same success as he had at the lower levels.
Perhaps the manager needs to adjust "his tactics" to the players he has available - which is exactly what's Paul Hirst has done. I agree and would add that DC is defensively naive. The appalling Goals against is totally unacceptable.

How pizzed off am I also , I had a 9 match accum with both teams to score 8 came in after 50 minutes could've cashed for £120 but hoped we'd salvage some kind of pride with a consolation but no , DC owes me a f@cking 3er now , ✊️💦

I know to make matters worse I backed Rovers to win and both teams to score at Northampton as part of a £400 accum but the fact we won softened the blow of betting slip 🙈, this is hard to take

Disappointed with that result tonight. Played much better 2nd half but all of the damage was done in the first half. Still, Shrewsbury are up there so it's hardly a surprise. Plus leaking goals has been a Gas problem all season. Something has to be done in January. UTG

having just watched that pile of sh*t on ifollow i can safely say LINES was by far the worst player i have watched all season. cant run, defo cant tackle, stopped a few times to check his hair and makup Time to drop him and stick with The Beard, OC and LS in the middle But he wasn't directly to blame for any of the goals we conceded?

Oh dear. Just woken up the other side of the planet to this. We had a vey similar season last year so although something clearly isn’t right and any promotion hopes have had a reality check we’re still not in a bad place yet but we still need to do something. We’re not a bad side, we won 6-0 the other week and have a few other good results under our belts but my god we’re Jackyll and Hyde. Sad thing is I’m not surprised.
A defensive coach is now more important immediately than any player we can bring in over the winter window. Our defenders are not bad!

This could be a defining season for Darrell and the team as stats tell you the staff and team peaked last season and the bubble has burst... No point people clinging to one Northampton game when you look at our record...it’s not as if our away games have been lost on the odd goal or been tight...tactically they’ve been embarrassing and that of a team you expect to be relegated...
The past is the past and I’ll take my hat off to dc but everyone can’t understand how he changes players for certain games which have overachieved to be where they are and expect them to be on top of their game...dc has lost us a lot of games this season and last by getting it wrong formation wise or team selections...no one plays on merit and half the time out of position...
Everyone can say “dc we trust” but how long does that mean anything??? Until we get relegated???
If he was our goal keeper and cost us so many matches he would have been sold on or sacked and no one would be saying he must stay because he made some great saves a few seasons ago!

How many tackles do he NOT do when he had a chance to a least block the player... just look at the 3rd goal to see how he bottled out of a tackle near the half way line... if that was the beard in that situation i know a tackle from him would have stopped the attack

I’ve also seen every game and in fact I’d say after the first 3 or 4 games, he’s been one of our best players. I’m sure Stevek’s Match report will back me up.

Especially when Bodin is injured. For me OC has been average at best this season and no where near his all action self of last season. Add that to the massively inexperienced back line and we're going to struggle.

Not as a DEFENSIVE midfielder ! .He can't tackle has very little pace and just about capable to head the ball

Rovers are like a box of chocolates you just never know what you are going to get? Sometimes we're up and sometimes we're down, no need to wear a frown.
