We had this team.they all looked after each, fought for every ball, got 2 promotions, fantastic. Trouble is they suddenly had to play against some very good players. So the manager made changes brought in new players within his modest budget to address the problem. Mansell, mcchrystal, mildenhall, easter, montano just had to go. Sinclair, leadbitter, brown and gaffney no longer regulars,i mean surely they are not up to it? End product = nobody is looking after each other and were losing too many 50/50 challenges ref. the shrewsbury highlights for an example. Were a team but we are not quite team we were,in fact were a bit weak. Under dc we never knew when we were beat but we are now beat at 2-0 usually. I actually believe dc has been a victim of the league 2 promotion. We could struggle this season. But the owners will surely help in january? No they wont, they just wont.

Since League Two promotion, we’ve lost five experienced leaders from the dressing room (Mildenhall, McChrystal, Mansell, Easter & Lawrence) and are still yet to replace even one of them IMO.

You miss on key point, DC was trying to make signings right up to the transfer deadline which clearly indicates there was money still available for signings. Secondly, you forget that £500k was spent on two signings one of which seems poorly spent at present. I'm not convinced the failure to sign a defensive midfielder, wide-playing midfielder and experienced central defender was all down to lack of money. That said, we will see if there budget is there in January for these additions.

Maybe that is one of the contributory factors. Gerry Francis last promotion side was full of strong characters / leaders that never knew when to give up - scored winning goals in the last 2 minutes on many occasions. Have we lost the fight to the last minute mentality because we've given up long before because we made the task too hopeless to recover. A new defensive coach and someone whose been around the block in successful sides that will come in and be captain. Someone who doesn't mind ruffling a few feathers might go a long way to helping us turn around our current frailty. This would cost but would be investment well spent in my book.

Sercombe might only have been £100k and nichols £250k? we dont know,we got 300k for taylor, the owners did not spend much money pre season imo. No doubt that some of my posts are affected by the fact i have completely lost faith with the owner hani. Nichols has struggled overall but to my eyes he has not played as a striker all season.

Think you may right about the Family getting cold feet... will find out for sure if no significant additions in January or we get confirmation the plugs been pulled on the Colony.

Spot on mate. Lack of leadership on the pitch is what is missing. I agree we've lost some of our leaders but then if those players were still here Mansel McCrystal Mildenhal etc would we be mid table in league 1 ? We've just got hammered 4-0 away to top of the table and that leaves us 4 points off of play offs and 6 points off the drop zone. Not that bad and I think we're higher in the table than we would be if we had mansel in midfield and mccrystal at the back. You've got to move on as a manager as players get older and build a new side and if DC is given chance to do that by our supporters and board then I've got confidence in him that he can do that , it won't happen over night like some of the belters on here expect it to and I'm so sorry to break their little hearts but we're probably not going to make it 3 promotions in 4 years either but how many clubs in the English league have done that ? People need to get real we've had amazing success and now weve levelled off and suddenly people are saying our managers crap our players are crap all because we're not top 6 it's Dam ludicrous.
