This season is becoming a joke to me now. Ive supported the gas since 8 and I'm now 32. Most years I've been a season ticket holder and football and in particular the gas is my main passion in life. Rubbish investment in the summer is leaving using woefully short of any attacking quality from midfield or above and its killing us IMO. It feels like this is going to be a long old hard season where we are in a dog fight with no quality to watch now we've lost bodin to injury and tbh I don't see enough from the lads to stop us sinking. Something's up! I seem to have lost any motivation to get up for the games at the moment which is very unlike me. When we had the previous owners we knew where we stood - ragbag rovers and let's get behind our underdogs- loud and proud. The last few seasons have been great and maybe I've been spoiled but the whole wael thing is now really grating on me. What are we actually trying to achieve? I'm sat here with large expectations and ambitions and it seems we are going backwards again! Im struggling to come to terms with the fact - nothing's changed! Where's the stadium? Where's the training ground? Where's the players? Where's the positivity? Where's the marketing? What's going on? By habit I'll always be there and be a gashead but I've lost some passion for some reason and feel very let down and almost lied to and taken for a ride! I feel more like a customer rather than supporter/fan more than ever. Sorry for the rant but I'm just struggling with it atm. We really need to make a big change at the club as we seem to be going backwards now let alone evolving. Yes a developement squad is a good thing but it's a bit pointless when you haven't addressed the first team! I don't know!? UTG as always! I'm hoping someone can lift me and get me going again! Anybody? Almost dreading going to the mem next week and usually the highlight of the week! ☹️💙⚽️

I cant be bothered to pick out the points of this post, but to his statement that "I seem to have lost any motivation to get up for the games at the moment which is very unlike me."
Which is (probably) true for hundreds of others since the attendances are down far lower than that they were last year, and the positivity around the Mem is terrible to what it was last year. Shame really.

Shame really. Its football. We probably had a higher attendance in the conference than our relegation season from League 1. Fans come when the teams doing well, disappear when they’re not. Its how its always been and always will be.

Yet another 'the results of my football club have fluctuated (downwards obviously) and therefore everything else about said club is sh**' thread.
Sadly the forum has become predictably boring.

Think the board are partly to blame, dragging the UWE out and then being forced to announce the faliure the week before the season started took away all momentum the club had and positivity went back to zero.

I'm awfully upset that we don't win every week. Where's my Mummy? Where's the antidepressants?
Sadly this is exactly what happened in our second League One season last time. I hope our board have more patience and leave DC to it.

Since when did not watching Rovers at a cr@p stadium every knock our positivity?? Regardless if a deal couldn't be agreed as that really the boards fault or would you sooner they just agree any deal to keep fans positive?

The club was on a huge high, successive promotions and financially stable with a very real opportunity of a new shiny stadium to take us to and compete at the next level. After the board led the support base on for so long, (landing lights etc) to be told it was off and no alternative lined up was a big gut punch to most and now the chance to compete at that next level feels as far away as it did 3 years ago

Ive said it on 2 threads ive created, one before the season started that the 2nd season after a promotion is often tough and its tougher still for us because we had 2 promotions! I think the op makes a valid point that the new owners brought with them a feeling of this time when we have a good team we will build on it. It will be great! But that feelings gone now, nobody from the manager down believes that this time it will be different anymore. I hope as fans we can switch to survival mode and back the team and manager to keep us in the division.

We’re at home next game. Win it and we could well go top half let’s not throw the towel in yet and get behind them on Saturday and help them out of this bad run ( 3 games) eh lads. 🙄 UTG

I think there is a lot of ill feeling and mistrust developing towards the club at the moment but aiming it at the manager is very misplaced.

The main problem is we've been massively let down, yet again.
We have been led to believe that work would now be started on the UWE stadium. Following months of silence, and at the 11th hour we were told UWE is off. No real explanation, no professional management of the bad news, just that it's off. We are then told that the Mem will be re-developed. You know, the very same Mem we were to.d wasn't suitable as it wouldn't produce significant revenue streams.
We were told DC had given SH a list of 3 players for every position he wanted to strengthen. It all started so promisingly with the Sercombe signing then in typical Rovers fashion it faded away and we ended signing a lightweight forward with a pathological hatred of scoring goals, then stubbornly play him over a loanee forward who looks like he has something about him.
If we had indeed started on the stadium the fans would be able to deal with the disappointing results we're getting, but for many it seems horribly like the Rovers same old, same old.
I still support DC and think he is a good manager. However, he's built a bit of a cult personality for himself, he has a 5 year deal and seems totally unaccountable regarding constant player and formation changes, or projects as he likes to call them.
If only we could have a bit of frigging luck for a change.

a bit worrying if this is how the owner is running the club (on the field investment) and treating the fans (communication) in the successful times, what on earth will it be like when things turn sour. I suspect he'll be camped out in Jordan or a Chelsea exec box and we'll never see him.
Ive been trying my hardest to forget the handing of the UWE fiasco, but the above posts have brought it rushing back. One word to describe the ownership's handing of it, and the subsequent pie in the sky mem redevelopment plans: disrespectful!
