Our keepers this season are a long shot improved from the Kelle Roos’ and Will puddy’s of last year.
Last season it was more our keepers but this season it’s mostly the defence. Our keepers can’t be doing too much about the shots which are coming in far too easily.
The odd mistake aside like getting sent off.

Smith had no chance with the goals yesterday. Although he did drop a ball that could have led to another goal. But it didn’t. He made a great 1v1 save yesterday and turned another shot brilliantly around the post.
The difference with Wimbledon yesterday was their constant talking through their back line. I didn’t hear a Dickie bird from locks or broadbent yesterday. And that is purely down to leadership and confidence and the ability to drag the team up and directing the team to pick up men, where the opposition are closing etc.
How many times did we see yesterday the ball being nicked off us because e had no awareness of the opposition or broadbent turning into another attacker on the 18 yard line.
It’s basic leadership and team spirit.

In fairness. How many keepers have we had since we have been in league one? Our defence has only looked good with Lumley behind them. So does that mean all our keepers are sh** or our defence is sh**, just Lumley was too good for league 2. I know which I think.
Also it rubs off on each other, the defence makes a mistake and the keeper loses confidence and starts making mistakes and vice versa.
I don't think either of our keepers are better than average for this level but it doesn't help when you have mistake after mistake in front of you.

Haven't seen a single save from either nutjob. Not securing Joe Lumley, and replacing him with two rejects was never going to end well! You may say I'm just going off tonight, but look at the bigger picture! GKs are shocking Undroppable Lockyer No show Sweeney Unpickable Telford and is it fair to class DC as "somewhat confused"? You obviously have not seen any games this season!

Smith dropped the ball that SHOULD have led to a goal and he also needlessly charged off his line which led to him being rounded but thankfully their player blazed over with an open goal - so a very mixed bag from him. I'd like to see Slocombe back in - he's steadier and talks a lot, but neither is anywhere near Lumley in my eyes.
