So anyone remember back on the old forum and af about board members buying up houses around the mem? Well i've been told that this nice little nest egg has come back to bite them on the ass because the Al-Qadi's don't need them for the regeneration plans.
Bit of major butt hurt for the old guard who thought they would make a killing under Higgs and his sainsbury's deal.

Haha.
Out of interest, do you know where the houses are that the old guard supposedly own? Houses within the site or on the roads?
I’d hope the old guard weren’t hoping to make a killing over Rovers? Gasincider tells me there coming back to save us?

House prices in Bristol are crazier than this forum.

But originally for the plans for the new mem. Cool. It makes sense that a director at some point in time would have bought a house or two around that area. But I’m guessing those properties have risen a 100k in that time, they ain’t struggling.

Oh yeah your right these guys aint strapped for cash and are probably raking in it in with rent but i think they thought there would be a massive payout one day.

Pretty sure this has already been mentioned on one of the other threads.
Someone posted that the deal was supposed to be that the houses would be sold to Rovers at 125k over market value I think. Or possibly 125% of market value. One or the other.

I remember discusions at an agm some years ago, where it had been neccesary to purchase a property for the Sainsbury option to go ahead, If I recall correctly the director had to pay well over the odds to get the property, I believe this was a personal purchase and not some form of loan taken against the Mem. As always the club was far from cash rich so well done that Director for putting up his own money in looking to help the club. The Director was and still is a life long Rovers fan, if he has or will make a profit good luck to him.

Filton avenue or the tent end the houses that were bought I think Yeah I think it was Alton Road at the tent end from memory. Could be wrong though.
