It's nice to finally have a pacey left footer on the left wing. He takes his man on, has a good cross on him and pops up in a few goal scoring positions as well as doing his defensive duties. Probably the best set piece taker we've had in the last few years too. Spot on with your last sentence!

A group of 4 or 5 men stood behind me repeatedly kept calling Dave Martin Dagenham Dave, even though he was one of our best players today, some people are right morons.

We call him Dartford Dave where we stand - Rolls off the tongue. It's just banter, I guess. We call him that but we still recognize that he's a key factor in our recent surge in form.

Last week I heard some bloke say that Taylor was useless, and that we should bring on Harrold.

Think he's a very good player and have seen encouraging signs from him in every game he's played in. The level he has reached in the last few games though have been superb and his all-round influence and play on the left is a joy to watch. His deliveries are good, his running is good, he tracks back, etc... I am very impressed.
Given he has no future, seemingly, at Luton I'd like to think we can extend the loan for the full season at the very least. He may be enjoying his football so much that if a permanent move materialised he'd take it and that would be good for stability - both for us and for him.
I think Cunnington, our other loanee, is a good player too and if I was in charge I'd be speaking to Cambridge already to try and extend his loan as well.

We really need to get him signed up on a long term deal.
His delivery from corners is the best I've seen in 30 years following the gas.
Not sure where we stand on extending his loan or making the deal permanent. Is that even possible outside the transfer window?

I would think we could get a deal in place that would go through once the window opens.

He was nicknamed dartford Dave at milwall, my lions mate told me he would be very good at this level referring to him as dartford Dave! I don't think it's derogatory tbh and certainly wouldn't call people morons for calling him it. After all, know one likes a bloke with 2 first names!!

If we sign him until at least the end of this season I'll hey 'Dartford Dave' on the back of my shirt.

I was calling the people using it as an insult and as criticism morons, not the people who use it affectionately. In fact it was more directed at people who spout negativity about our players even when they are doing well.

Dagenham Dave makes no sense, he's never played for D&R and wasn't born in Essex......
Dartford Dave makes sense, he played there for 2 years and is a Kentish Man (or a man of Kent)

Don't really understand how he got stick in the first place. Was excellent tonight and adds genuine set piece quality, best delivery from corners we've had for years. I didn't personally give him stick. However, I did give the board stick as on the face of it, he appeared a signing on the cheap (which still may have been the case) as he wasn't even given a squad number by Luton and was no use to them going up last season. I will hold my hands up and say he has took me by surprise and is much better than I was expecting him to be. Fair play to Clarke for signing him.
