Well I don't think that recruitment is a particular weakness. He's signed some players that have worked, and some that haven't, like any other manager. Yes I agree with you, but in my opinion it's DCs weakest area. He does a very good job in most other areas but only average in the transfer market. Yes you're right Hugo and if he gets that right who knows what he could achieve

DC is doing his best , l am amazed how well he is doing with limited resouces, false promises from Waq & Hani, and probably very little help from Hamer. We all need to get behind D.C., if not the club could be in trouble if it is not already. If D.C. walks, l for one will be absolutely gutted. Utg

The thing is he hadn’t had much of a budget to work with he’s signed most of our current squad and we’ve risen two divisions and stayed their so I’m not so sure it’s a weak area particularly. Maybe it’s his worst but we’ve done alright with these so called weak signings haven’t we ?

Looking at this another way what if we'd put in another Wimbledon type performance today and lost again, would fans still be questioning why DC shouldn't be sacked? Thank god we didn't and hopefully we'll win again next week then fans will be panicking about DC being head hunted in January! Let’s look at it this way ,The players turned up today won and they’ve been excellent over the last 4 years and deserve the respect of our supporters and likewise our manager and supporters. There’s some complete utter sh**e that’s spouted on here on a regular basis but in response to your what if question ? We didn’t did we ? We won and we’re 4 points off the drop we’ve won our last game we clearly have our players and manager fighting for absolutely every f**king thing that they can get that’s what Im looking for and want the same again next Saturday. We all do. We turn up we support them , what ifs are Shiite talk there will always be people up for slagging the club and our manager off after a defeat so f**king what ? Sorry if it wasn't clear I was just giving an example of how things change on the back of just one result, probably football is like no other industry where a manager can do his best but still be sacked on a whim.

No I don't back him at all, I just don't think that he is up to the job of moving us forward and by that I don't mean premiership but I mean stopping the rot and get us to a good me table or even top 10 finish this season . And goodness knows what he's going to do in the Jan transfer window because his recruitment of players. Recently has a lt to be desired Of all the posters lost on this forum, I wish you were one of them. Just so anti DC and you breed negativity!!! Pretty sure he's a WUM just loving the attention given they can't even be bothered to watch what was probably one of our most important games for years yesterday, I believe if we turned in another Wimbledon performance yesterday we could be playing Div 2 football next season. DC and his players did a brilliant job turning things around this week.

Top 6 or bottom 6 budgets does anyone actually have any proof, I very much doubt it because most businesses would not be disclosing this information to the outside world.
I suspect that the transfer fees we paid out could actually be the key number and the number used to make a point by whoever wants too.

The only proof would be in what DC chooses to tell us. He will know competitive budgets from speaking to other football managers and will know where he is at. If he tells us it’s a bottom 6 budget why would be disbelieve him?
Fact is he is doing a great job with what’s at his disposal and is also on a learning curve himself. Personally I would want no one else in charge right now.

Name one other mid table Div 1 side who spent £500K in the last year, I'd say our budget was mid table, which I'm pretty sure DC was saying it was a few months ago.

So let's be absolutely clear. We won't dwell on DC's success in the past, because that's history, apart from one thing. DC could have ridden on the back of his past success and left for Leeds, but he chose to stay. Partly because he was offered a better contract (although far less than he would have earned at Leeds), partly because was made promises about the future budget and infrastructure of the club, and partly because he clearly respects his players and especially the fans. The training ground, budget and stadium were all factors influencing his decision to stay. All have now fallen through or are on hold. He's managing a squad with a bottom six budget, a large portion of the squad needs to be replaced to be a success in League 1, the facilities are poor, the budget is minimal, the stadium is shocking, the future for any progress is at best uncertain and at worst unthinkable. But despite all the problems he's faced, we're 15th in League 1, comparable with most of our seasons over the past 50 years. And you think he's an embarrassment and should be sacked? spot on post and totally agree with you. Whether D.C. can keep pushing on with this squad or not in league 1 isn’t a reflection on whether he’s a good manager or not he’s taken us as far as he can with his budget almost certainly. Last season was incredible In that we finished 10th. In retrospect we had the momentum of back to back promotions but that’s not a bad thing it’s amazing not many clubs do it and certainly not many finish top half in their third season. This season DC let four of his biggest leaders go at once and I think if he’d done it two in the summer and two in January it would have been a less of a sudden lack of leadership and that’s a mistakes he’s made and I honestly believe that when he’s talked recently about making mistakes in the summer he’s had that in mind. He’s not perfect he f**ks up he admits it he brushes himself off he faces up to the fans he faces up to the cameras he reaps the rewards when he’s right and he admits it when he’s got it wrong. The man is everything I wanted when we were languishing around the bottom of league two just waiting to be eaten up and relegated and he has taken us forward in the very way that I wanted us to be taken forward. Now is the time for our new board to back him, our players to continue to back him , and our supporters to back him as the majority of our supporters have ( midland - T bone obviously you want to be excluded from this ) and we go again next Saturday at home to Southend. UTG. Brilliant post socrates

Its unlikely that we spend £500k, more like £400k, which is why it's hard to answer your question - most clubs don't disclose the fees paid now. However, the mid-table clubs that probably spent a similar amount to us or more in the window include Fleetwood, MK Dons, Peterborough, Northampton, Portsmouth, and Blackpool. Probably others, too.

Blackpool have no money, no crowds - they've done very well so far under the experienced Bowyer. They looked a good side against us.
