Given DC was unhappy last season when the grass had been left 1mm too long for one of the games I'll bet he was bloody furious at the state of Saturday's match! Lol.
Thing is I can only see it getting progressively worse during the next few months. What on earth is it going to look like in Feb?!...well probably just earth tbh.

Just look at the problem The new Wembley pitch was the first year they laid it, and look at it now, give it time to bed in, I'm sure it will sort it self out in the end

Sorry. I already exhausted my betting knowledge with that joke. I don't know anything about gambling other than that it's only bookies that win Yep you’re right with that one Hugo. You better believe it. To my eternal shame I got in the hole for 14 bags at age 19. My parents paid it to cut a very long story short, I paid them off out of my wages for 9 years. I’ve never bet since

End of the day both teams have to play on it. I remember Eastville being bad and certainly much much worse, especially in the 18 yard box and flanks. The flowerbeds were always mint, until saints tried it on Poor groundsman Willie

Since the Conference year the Groundsman over saw an award winning pitch and subsequently commended for the following year.
Groundsman left and club spent most they ever have on the pitch and it’s shocking! I am told builders sand was used! Comedy gold, in any other business someone would be held accountable for an epic fail...

It looked terrible yesterday. Cutting up all over the shop.
Really hope the club kept the receipt for it.

Eastville was a mudheap, but long ball teams liked it. Wolves would flood their pitch before games. The Frome did it for free at Eastville. Rovers bought a full back from Wolves, Gwyn Jones, sliding tackle and thump it up to Alfie Biggs

Spoke to Tom the commercial Director on Saturday and he said they had used the wrong sand/dept and the roots had not taken correctly

I’m a landscaper and I always get the soil as flat as possible then grade about an inch to 2 inches of sharp sand over the top with a straight edge. Gets it like a bowling green. Maybe they used pit sand which is a lot softer.

Spoke to Tom the commercial Director on Saturday and he said they had used the wrong sand/dept and the roots had not taken correctly Oh well at least we’ve got to the root of the problem, although this does cast seeds of doubt over the competence of the contractor? Good job it’s only costing us £12.50 a week!

Its a shame really as part of our outstanding success in home matches has been the wonderful pitch dc teams have played on imo. Hopefully they can sort it out for next season.

Apparently it's the drainage channels (GCCC had similar problems when they laid their new drainage a few years ago). The drainage itself is fine, but where the pipes/channels were laid the space above was incorrectly filled in/is taking time to grow. Apparently.........

Why we needed to replace it when it was looking decent previously I will never know! Haven't even got the rugger excuse anymore! I hope we didn't pay the company that did it as its shockingly bad.

Can't imagine the groundsman was very pleased. Worked painstakingly for years, often in difficult circumstances, on getting a relatively very good pitch, and then they just rip it up and replace it with crap, that he has to work even harder on.

The deputy Groundsman had to prepare the pitch for Saturday with the help of of few friends from the county ground...

We need to stay off it and import some of those night lights to give it a hand to mature and sow properly - yeah right like we’d pay for that! Lol!
