Has anyone seen us actually try to action a pre-planned one other than the cut back to brown? It seems we usually just aimlessly knock it in. Our Corners have always been historically woeful since Stuart Campbell left IMO. We really need to sort out our set pieces as with backs to the wall this season these can be vital. UTG!

I remember back in the day when corners were our strong point, the stuart taylor flick on at the near post and paul randall following it off, lost count how many we use to score with that routine, so effective.

Thought Sercombes corners were better than Lines Swung them in and not floaty outward ones !

It's the same with throw ins we don't seem to have any plan or tactics

It's the same with throw ins we don't seem to have any plan or tactics I thought that was evident on Saturday as we struggled to loose our markers whereas Rotherham were much better at this

Don't get me started on throw ins!
Our corners are bad enough (too predictable and always slow balls in) but throw ins are awful.
It seems we never have anyone ready to receive the ball that is unmarked, we often loose possession or the advantage and we take bloody ages to make up our mind what we want to do so they always slow the pace of the game down. I am a Browner fan but this is one part of his game that needs improvement imo.

It's lack of movement most of the time, Brown had the ball looked and nobody was trying to find space and all were static.

the corners issue was addressed last season...Hartley. As the seasons before Rovers had tons of corners and they came to nothing.
I wonder if Hartley could have played that role Partington has filled lately (?)
Ifs and Buts...

Drill from a Rover's throw in. Winger wins a throw in, picks up ball to throw back into play to keep momentum going. Winger told to NOT take throw in, so drops the ball. Leadbitter or Brown pick up ball. Ball now thrown straight to opposition......

It bugs me that when the opposition get a corner we don't leave anyone on the halfway line we get everyone back This means the opposition don't have to leave two men back in case of a quick counter If we win the ball we either just horse it upfield with no one there or our keeper has to hang on to the ball until we get bodies forward

Thought Sercombes corners were better than Lines Swung them in and not floaty outward ones ! The high floaty ones really wind me up! However, it cant all just be down to who takes it. as anghymhwysedd mentioned, last season we had a defender who knew how to get on the end of free kicks and corners. Other than Hartley, when was the last CB we had who managed to get a few goals in a season?! I think Sweeny has got two so far and hasn't played that many games.

Why clog up your own area with so many players ? players don't take as much responsibility as they could/should as a result !

Plus how many times have you seen us score from the oppositions corners since MT departed?
