Whilst we’re all trying to prove doomsday is upon us. Darrell wants out and we haven’t got a pot to water in.
There’s a lovely photo of our gaffer and president, smiling outside the Chelsea ground. Waels come in for criticism lately, but he watches more football- than any other owner I think of. Here, London or abroad. He’s a true football nerd.

And he bought the club just as we were going under and he wants to spend money and improve the club. The fact DC is still here is mainly down to him and without DC we wouldn’t be anywhere near where we are. He’s had a hell of a lot of stick these last few months that’s for sure and I think the majority of it has been unfair and ill informed.

Everybody knows we have been well and truely f*cked over; the evidence is all there to see (sic)

Here's the pic, though I'm sure we've all seen it.
Nice to see a thread about Wael & DC without the negative so-and-so's trying to bring us all down!
Yours faithfully,

I reckon DC paid for the trip, seeing that Whale is a poor fraud.

Checking out loan players for January, I reckon. If any of those were on show last night then we really will be going under!

I reckon DC paid for the trip, seeing that Whale is a poor fraud. They used scouts complimentary tickets. 😎

What he actually said was he had three lists one for "Waitrose", "Lidl" and "Poundland". Time will tell if DC has been told to shop for bargains in poundland or luxuries in Waitrose but what we do know is that Wael is passionate about football and committed to this club.

Where did the folklore originate that Wael is a hapless footie fan with no idea how to run a business, and Hani and the family are just indulging him by letting him buy a football club as a 'plaything', to use the term I've often seen, and that Hani actiually holds all the purse strings?
A lot of people seem to accept it, but is there any truth in it all at? And how does anyone know this?

Pretty sure this narrative emerged around the time the UWE deal collapsed, but took over slowly enough that no-one has stopped and questioned it. Another one spread by the ITKs that has become fact on this forum.

I think some did question it which then started some of the bitter exchanges between those who 'knew' something and those who didn't.

The point is more about not overeating.
DC talking about budgets before January is not unnormal.
DC being frustrated about the stadium situation (like all of us) does mean he’s fed up with the owners. (I suspect they are also annoyed about the stadium).
And...
DC watching a game of footie with the president does not mean everything is perfect.
There are challenges ahead. But as of yet I see no need for the pitchforks,
Let’s concentrate on supporting the boys.

Good summation of the current situation; another win this weekend with other results going our way and all could look rosy in the garden that is Bristol Rovers. Or am I just being fickle? Pretty sure this narrative emerged around the time the UWE deal collapsed, but took over slowly enough that no-one has stopped and questioned it. Another one spread by the ITKs that has become fact on this forum. I don't think it's just the forum, Wael said this in the Guardian about a year ago: “My father and my brothers – Hani, the eldest, is the guy in charge at the bank, a Harvard Business School honours’ graduate – they’re conservative and they look at business with numbers and charts. So to try to convince the family to come into football, something they see as just a game … they had no clue about the industry, about how it has grown.” I reckon it's pretty clear from this that Hani holds the purse strings and Wael had to persuade him to buy into the club. I also think however he still holds an interest in Rovers, beyond his investment. I seem to recall that he watched the L2 promotion in with the fans in the North terrace, so he has had the chance to experience the passion the fans have towards our football club.
