So are the UWE going it alone with the stadium build before planning lapses next month, as why have they recently submitted a flood risk assessment report to S Glos planners. A covering letter from Alder King only dated 14 Nov 2017 uploaded on the 7 Dec states: "Further to recent discussions, please find enclosed an application to discharge the above noted outstanding pre-commencement conditions related to the UWE Stadium." Given that planning was due to lapse next month it seems pointless discharging the pre-commencement conditions unless they are serious about work commencing shortly, perhaps Mr West comments about pressing on alone were correct! S Glos Planning Message to the Bristol Post if you print a story based on this info. then give the forum & me some credit!!

Or they are discharging the conditions because they won't be met at all? I think you might be reading a bit too much into that Topper.

What's the point in incurring fees on a flood assessment report and the cost of agents sending that to S Glos to discharge the conditions, when the plans will just lapse in a month or so if they simply sat and did nothing.

Are they going to build the car park?

Maybe we've came to an agreement and are in talks again 🤞

Maybe we've came to an agreement and are in talks again 🤞 Think Alder King can be acting on behalf of someone else. They have also submitted outline plans for the Filton Airfield development. One things for sure the original application expiry date is looking to be extended. The application includes provision for a 1000 capacity car park as per the original plans. Can't believe this is anything to do with the ALQ's.

Alder King's letter confirms they are acting for the UWE:
"Further to recent discussions, please find enclosed an application to discharge the above noted outstanding pre-commencement conditions related to the UWE Stadium. This discharge of condition application has been submitted by the University of the West of England, who was listed as joint applicant on the application form submitted with PT12/0888/F"

Good luck to them if they think they can make enough use of a stadium to justify the cost of building it. I can't see it unless as part of some nightmare scenario to get Bristol rugby their own stadium

they haven't got to summit new plans etc then because it was a joint partnership? If they do carry on with the build then surely that blows the feasible study out the window! The deal must of been so much in uwe's favour to pull out....or we never had the funds...

It looks like a third party has taken more than an interest in the UWE scheme and more than likely BRFC. Something is happening behind the scenes that’s for sure.

Just a question...and no knowledge of anything....but can anyone think that Pantsdown might have any interest in this? Seems to be expanding his franchise every which way. Or am I being paranoid? Not sure what about though🤔.

I can't see it unless as part of some nightmare scenario to get Bristol rugby their own stadium Lansdown doesn’t need to build a stadium for Bristol Rugby, as they can easily be accommodated at 27000 Ashton Gate without affecting City. The rugby revenue is part of that business plan. Why recreate the old geographical split?

VITAL GAS reported 2 years ago the "UWE are reducing stadium size and going alone". I would be amazed if true.

Forest green announce new stadium in unison with UWE shocker!
Dale vince explains that "nobody bothers watching us in nailsworth so why not share a wonderful modern facility in south gloucestershire" He goes on to explain "the potential for our club here is fantastic" He says "i dont waffle on making false promises i just get things done" Being outside of bristol forest green will still be a gloucestershire club and of course only vegetarian food will be sold at the club. When asked about the deal being a lease he said "no problem we will all be long dead when the lease expires"

Something is happening behind the scenes that’s for sure. this is my feeling as well, waels always said he's in it for the long run but maybe just him, maybe we've agreed a deal with some more investors and hani/sami taking the back seat with wael still president

I have always wondered why the UWE have never started to build and use the car park whilst this has been dragging on.....surely you can build and use something in parts?

The only thing Wael mentioned post UWE collapse was the unsatisfactory 120 year lease requirement. That never was the blocker was it? Hammer & Wael both said we were very close to agreement but for the life of me I cannot see the ALQ's resurrecting this - but clearly something's going on - nice one Topper!!
