Just wondering if all our good spirit will be broken on Saturday, this lot look a different proposition altogether and we all of a sudden have a winning run to protect and increase upon, thoughts! On another note did anyone feel the difference in the crowd last night? It was good to attend a game where you were not dreading the first mistake to be made and the poisonous atmosphere to prevail, it felt almost inevitable that we would win the game at some point! I suppose the early goal helped Oh and a little bird tells me Mr Bloggs is attending for some jollities soon, roll out the barrel, watch this space

For once I feel we are looking forward to the test. Got nobody to fear at home especially. A win and we really stamp a marker down in this league.

I think it's probably a good thing that Woking lost last night really. If they were coming to The Rovers unbeaten that would have definitely added something to the game. Although having said that I have no idea who they've played so far this season. It could have been all the bottom teams.

Woking have played 3 games v teams in the top half of the table. Won 1; Drew 1; Lost 1
Two of those games were away fixtures - Won 1; Lost 1

Not so sure as we usually fire ourselves up more if we have something to prove against a team who are flying. Halifax were unbeaten before we played them and we won that.

Agreed, what we have to remember is that teams are going to be really fearful of us as we are a big club for this level and have just come down. You could see it last night, Nuneaton were panicking at the back as they are not used to playing clubs with so much support and could tell it made them that bit more nervous. The more games we carry on winning, the more fearful teams are going to be. Let's keep sticking it down their throat!

They'll be more scared of playing us than we are playing them, for the first time in a while I felt that we actually made it very intimidating for the Nuneaton players last night.

Well Torquay are about the highest club they've played. Big crowds too. They did beat Wrexham away though.

Thing is it doesnt matter if we get beaten by woking (who) , what matters is that if we go a goal or 3 down that the team don't give up but rather give 100%, as thats where the battling spirit comes from, i noticede on the vid from last night that was posted we seem to be able to pass the ball around a bit more, think its going to be a bit of a while ,but when all 11 gel then i think we will be unstoppable (might be right or wrong but thats the reality in me swede so im sticking to it). when the passions there from every player the gel will come. long may it continue. at present we are getting better by the week, different players grabbing goals so we know a lot of the squad have it in em to sneak in a goal, the futures bright ,the futures blue and white

We'll beat them, I'm confident of it. They are a good side, I don't doubt that, but at home we grind out the results and have already beaten Halifax at The Mem who won their previous 5 games. If we play how we did in the first half last night we can beat anyone in the division.

I like the positivity on this forum (compared to the other one) but do fear a few comments (from other threads) are a bit premature.
I'm massively behind DC but make no mistake we haven't turned any corner yet.
In summary I'm cautious about Saturday. I hope to God we make it four in a row. I'm not being negative but if we lose, we all know it will turn sour again (mainly on the other forum).
Lets see what our spirit is like near Christmas when things have settled down because at the moment the games have been very hit and miss.

The ground breaking bus has set off and I for one remain very upbeat about our chances of success on Saturday and beyond. If we carry on with the present form we will not need to wait until Christmas to check the spirit. We will be top of the league and the spirits will be unstoppable. We are 5 pts from top place. Reasons to be very cheerful. I've turned many corners and this time it does seem just a little but more sustainable. Can We can beat teams like Woking? Champions of this league will need to. The team seem ready for this success. Let's not fear the success of how good we could be. Let's relax, enjoy and give the team the chance to send us home happy. Am I premature in my enthusiasm? I always have been and I'm still happy, yesterday today and tomorrow.

The danger is they may feel they have nothing to lose our reputation precedes us and makes us the big fish in this pond. Our players have got to get their heads around that and know what is expected. Bristol Rovers should expect to beat teams at this level.

Rich you always remain upbeat about " our chances of success on Saturday and beyond " but I do agree with you I think we'll beat Woking on Saturday. Can we win the league I honestly don't know and the reasons for that is I haven't seen all of the teams who are up there's games , Torquay, Halifax etc. But from what I have seen of the other sides I think we've got a chance. Thing is success in football And particularly football in the lower leagues is massively down to attitude organization and hard work and those three things often beat better quality. I find it hard to believe that there isn't a squad in our division with better quality but that doesn't mean we can't finish above them if there is.

I think we have a very good chance of winning this league.
We have shown we can beat the poorer teams and beat above us. We are 3pts behind play off position and play offs look very likely as a final league position this season. It's what DC and the team have suggested is the target.
The question is can we aim higher and achieve more. We are only 5pts off top spot. It's within touching distance! Of course we can. We seem to have been used to slip ups and failure and it seems we are conditioned to expect the worse.
If we have any thoughts about being the champions of this league then we need to believe we can beat teams like Woking. They are not going to be promoted - we are more likely to be promoted than them. Will we have another 3-1 - maybe not but for sure, champions win most of their home games and no reason why we cannot start thinking like champions one game at a time. The more we win games the more we will improve our attitude to success.
So we best Woking and move further up the table. More of our fans will believe that at last we can look down the table not with fear but with a growing confidence that we are at the top, on merit, with a professionalism that takes each game as a challenge but confident that we have the team and the players to win football matches.
We are on the start of a run. A run that many more will soon see can take us up up and away from the disappointments of the last few seasons.
I'm fed up being in this dark hole of despair and defeats. We deserve our period in the sunshine. Very soon it's going to be bright, sunny and successful.
By the time we get to the FFS sponsored game we will be in a position that dreamers like me have wished for, for perhaps, to long. Do dreams and wishes come true? Sometimes. Is this our season? I hope so.
Bring on Saturday!
