Good luck Bill. Thanks for the last 3 seasons.
As long as we bring in a couple of proven quality players I don't have a problem with this.

Good luck to him. I enjoyed watching him play for us. Let’s hope DC gets some money to spend. Presumably we don’t want the fee known so other clubs can’t just increase their price knowing how much we’ve got to spend. Got 4 weeks to get at least one quality replacement Great way to look at the "undisclosed fee"

The Lilywhites have completed the permanent signing of Billy Bodin from League One side Bristol Rovers for an undisclosed fee. The Swindon-born attacker, who has already scored 11 goals and had four assists in 24 games this season for the Gas Men, has completed a two-a-half-year deal with the club and will wear the No.39 shirt. Billy, 25, came through the youth system at Swindon, but it was a move to the Memorial Ground in the summer of 2015 when he started to flourish, and has 37 goals in 81 starts for the south west side player on the right wing and in an attacking role. He has not played in this season’s Emirates FA Cup and therefore will be eligible to make his debut against Wycombe Wanderers at the weekend, should manager Alex Neil want to involve his second signing of the January transfer window. Speaking about the latest addition to his attacking options, Alex said: “Over the last couple of years he's been averaging double figures of goals which is obviously something we are looking to add to the squad. “I think he's at a great age as well, he's still got his best years ahead of him and he's got the technical quality at the top end of the pitch to hopefully make a difference for us. “We need more competition in that top area; he's left footed which is different to the rest of our forward players as well so he brings goals, creativity and he's been great for Bristol Rovers over the last two or three seasons, so I think this is hopefully the right step in his career for him. “The good thing is he has got a lot of games under his belt so we are not signing a young kid who is inexperienced. He has got a lot of experience and hopefully that can help us in terms of adding to what we've got at the top end of the pitch. “We have done great to get it done, a lot of credit has to go to people behind the scenes, because I think we are one of the only teams to get two bits of business done this early and that is a great sign for us.” The player was delighted to complete the move so early into the new year and was looking forward to the next challenge in his career. He said: “It is something I have always wanted to achieve, to play in the Championship, and for me it is a great level of football and hopefully I can come in and help the team as much as I can. “The last two seasons I have got 13 goals in both seasons and about seven or eight assists, so be close to that already this season is a good achievement for me and hopefully I can continue to do that and help the team. “The Championship is a great level of football. There are a lot of massive teams in the division and I believe that when I have watched the lads play, that they play a style of football that suits me and that I can come in, gel with the lads, and help them progress and who knows where we can be at the end of the season.” www.pne-online.net/forum/showthread.php?104976-PNE-sign-Bodin-from-Bristol-Rovers-(Confirmed)

The best player in League One by a country mile.
The best player we've had since Rickie Lambert, a class act and his skill, trickery and goals were a joy to watch at times.
Good luck at PNE, hopefully you can carry on improving and you'll be in The Premier League at some point in the not to distant future.
People say DC's recruitment has been poor, I dont know how anybody can say that when he has unearthed 2 players in The Snake and Billy, both didnt cost a penny and has made the club more money in transfer fee's than probably any other manger we've had in the last 15 or so years.

He's a rare commodity in football a two footed player. Probably the most skillful Rovers player I've seen in 37 yesrs of following the Gas. Good luck Bill, you'll be sorely missed but thanks for the brilliant memories. Yes up there with Jarman, Stephens and Barrett... Ian Alexnder was quite effective with both feet - especially against Smith in derbies😀

Gutted he's gone.
Lack of ambition from our board, we've sold our 2 best players now 2 years on the trot.

Absolutely gutted to see him go - our only 'flair' player - but best of luck to the lad. We now have a challenge on our hands - how many matches did we win when he wasn't playing? Just hope that DC's 'war chest' has been at least doubled from the circa £250k he had available,

Once again the lack of transparency makes it hard to figure out what is really going on. 'Undisclosed fee', how very convenient. I really hope Dwane Sports haven't been blinded by pound signs and grabbed at the money here because if they didn't need reminding we didn't win a game when Bodin was injured. Unless it was ridiculous money he should have been kept until the end of the season.
We are already not in great shape and losing him makes us significantly weaker and very hard to adequately replace. Really disappointed as things stand.

Presumably we don’t want the fee known so other clubs can’t just increase their price knowing how much we’ve got to spend. Got 4 weeks to get at least one quality replacement I would imagine it's common knowledge by the agents what Preston paid if we couldn't even keep the snakes release fee a secret. Although it doesn't matter what we received it's what DC's been given that matters.
