I can't blame Billy for wanting to play for more money in a higher league, and he's going to a proper club with great facilities and very decent fanbase. I really hope he does well at Deepdale, especially on 6th March (where the Teds will take their usual 150 travelling fans), and want to thank him for all he's done for us over the past couple of years. And I know he'll be given a great reception should he ever come back to the Mem.
However, this is a huge moment for DC - he has to given this money, and anything else the AQ's might deign to hand him (don't laugh), and get a decent 20 goal a season striker. Otherwise we will slip quickly into a relegation dogfight. I live in hope.
And as for the statement earlier about the Colony, is Hamer really that stupid to think that the fans will not see it as a gross piece of cynical smokescreen spin? Apparently the Cheltenham outfit have been looking at the Colony and the Mem rebuild for couple of months.

Thank you for everything Billy, good luck for the future. I will never forget your magical goal against Dagenham and all of the excitement you have given us over the last 2 and a half seasons. All the best. - Although if the rumoured £400k is true then I will be absolutely livid at the club as that is a pathetic sum for a player of his quality, short contract or not. I really hope Dwayne Sports haven’t just jumped on the money here. Losing Bodin could see us in real trouble and surely letting him go for free in the summer having got another half season out of him would be better.

Well what else can I say that hasn't already been said in some really top posts already tonight? It's not very often when I'm genuinely happy but sad at the same time to see a player leave our club, billy has given us some great memories over the years , especially the daggers game. one of the best players I've seen in a rovers shirt. It is a huge move for the lad and let's be honest he has proven that with hard work and determination that you can achieve anything, he was on the football scrap heap when dc took a punt on him and gave him a chance to become the footballer he is today. Good luck billy I really wish you all the best at your new club ! Utg !!!!! agree with all you said, but this board is doing everything arse backwards If he wanted to go ( you can't blame him ) there's not really anything the board could of done. This is a big opportunity for the kid , he has to grasp it with both hands.

If it was obvious he was going, what difference does the colony announcement make? All this smokescreen stuff is bullshit. It doesn't hold up to a moment's scrutiny. What is it even supposed to be screening? The club has said all along that the colony will be developed. We have all known for a while that BBB was going to PNE (or somewhere else). What does announcing them at a similar time even achieve? What are we goldfish? Oh colony, oh colony, oh colony, BBB's gone, oh colony, oh colony... That's surely one for SH/Wael to answer as they made the announcement at a similar time, they must have know BB was going to sign today so why release The Colony announcement at 7pm tonight. I guess the real proof in the pudding will be how much DC is given to spend from BB's sale to strength the squad. Im guessing the deal with the developers was sown up from the start of the year and formalities concluded and signed today...second working day of the year.
The colony would in no way be seen as a smokescreen by anybody with a brain larger than a worms. However. It was probably important to announce the deal before the selling of favourite players. Else the doom and gloomers would have been saying.. oh they have no money..no colony no stadium now no players ..lets set fire to ourselves in a protest. DONT set fire to yourselves !
D.C. has already made it clear he wants 3 players in the 12 day period hopefully. That he will have to keep within the wage budget. That fans have to get ideas of big money signings out of their heads as its not gonna happen.
Still wont stop people ignoring that will it

Gutted he's gone. Lack of ambition from our board, we've sold our 2 best players now 2 years on the trot. You can blame the owners for a lot but the snake and BB's move was not their choice both wanted to move and you can't keep a player that want's to move nowadays. Get real please. The Snake I agree, Bodin I feel like if we'd offered a decent deal he would've stayed. You can't help blame me for feeling abit gutted that we've lost our best player in January again. Saying that I fully trust DC to bring in a good replacement.

Who do you believe ? DC tells us on Saturday nobody is knocking on his door wanting to leave. Four days later Billy Bodin is off ski, who next ? DC must be really ******* off , we are now *******. I just hope Waq & Hani know what they are doing or we could be looking at relegation. IMO we should have kept Bodin until the end of the season, gambling on the clubs future for £300k is ridiculous That's DC being DC, trying to get the best deal for his players and keep up morale amongst supporters and players.

We had no choice with Taylor but we didn't have to sell in this indtance so if the 400k is true (and tallies with that detailed post on the cardiff forum) then I am livid with DS. A paltry sum considering how much we struggle without him. Livid? Come on. He would have walked for nothing in 16 or so weeks time. If DC has found a replacement it's a decent move. IF. Sorry, but given that he hasn't come close to replacing Taylor in two attempts I am not confident he can replace Bodin adequately. We didn't win a game while he was injured- a terrifying stat and indicative of his value to us. We should only have sold for crazy money, if the 400k is true then that is what we have valued our league status at and it is not enough by a long shot.

I doubt even double that offer will come close to what Preston will be paying him, and that's even before we talk about his footballing aspirations. IMHO he was never going to stay with us beyond this summer. Still gutted though - top quality player.

He is a professional though and contracted to the end of the season- if we had reminded him of that you would think he would have enough class to honour it. Certainly he has never come across like anything other than a decent pro. It was our decision to sell, ultimately.

Im not watered off hes gone Im watered off because we could be as big as Preston if our owners didnt pull out of the UWE, why would any player want to come to us with our sh** pit of a ground

Just shows that he who can do nothing wrong lies out of his ass, only after the Pompey game DC said that we are not selling our best players yet here we are 2 days on and probably one of our top 3 players has gone who else now to follow Ells and the beard and leave us staring at relegation

Agree with the sentiments above, thanks for the memories, good luck etc. However, that Colony announcement at 7 in the evening really takes the water though. Despite what most of you think of one another we are not that stupid on here. The ******* communication though is half-arsed and ill thought through and we don't need soft soaping just honesty.
If Big Jock has a gif of a topless Hamer typing the Colony press release with one finger whilst watching the clock tick down to the Bodin announcement please don't share but the image will tell you where we are with communication at this club.
