Why would he Leave pompey and join us? they are a big club who are looking to be back in Championship soon. We are a club who sold our best striker to the Shi* and now sold our best midfielder for peanuts Reported £400k to a mid table championship side. And by bodins comments he couldnt wait to get out! No surprise if his wages go from £100kpa to somewhere near £500kpa - wouldn’t you be desperate to go? This should come as no surprise to anyone. Plus he knows more than most players that one more serious knee injury and his chance could be gone for good. Preston are 3 pts off a Play off spot so potentially he could be a Premiership player next season.

If it was possible I would like to see BB replaced with the Cheltenham Town lad Mo Eisa absolutely outstanding player. But probably out of our price range!! And I doubt Johnson would want to sell to us.

Not only do we need to replace Bodin in a positional sense, we also need to replace his goals. On the basis that there is no chance of picking up a goal scoring winger in the bargain basement, I think we are faced with signing a winger and a goal scoring striker. Can't see us getting both though. Hopefully we can do business early on in the window, before our next game, as the run of results that we had when BB was injured paints a worrying picture. Another run like that over the next 10 games and we are down. Agree with this. Signing a replacement striker has been hard enough, but replacement an attacking midfielder/forward/winger (what ever you want to call his position!) and all the goals will be almost impossible. At least in the short term anyway. If you did a poll on here a week ago, almost everyone would vote that a winger is needed most. Bodin's departure should not change that.

I wonder whether there is any chance of getting David Wheeler off QPR.
I know he only signed for them in August but he's only made 9 appearances and 5 of those were as a substitute in the last 15 minutes. He was also taken off in all 4 matches he did start.
Unless he's suffered with a lot of injuries that would suggest he's not making the grade and at 27 he should be in his prime.
He was signed for an undisclosed fee throught to be 400-500k so would probably cost 300k+ but if he is surplus to requirements Holloway might do us a favour. Failing that maybe they'd let him out on loan.
Assuming he was happy in Exeter then he might also be open to a move back to the south west.

I like Sammy Szmodics at Colchester, young attacking midfielder. Scores a few too.

I bet none of the players mentioned in this thread will be signed - unless, of course, they are on D.C.'s Aldi list.

The squad has lost the goals of the snake and BB in the last year . That's a lot of goals . Either the strikers need to up their games or a new striker WILL be required for Rovers to advance over the next season or so. D.C. has a clean slate for wingers/right & left midfield whether he looks to fill those positions now or in the summer who knows. He WILL need goals though.

How can you replace a player like BBB?we ain't got the money or the ambition to attract players. How did we attract Billy Bodin? We didn't he came to us after a long lay off with injury and asked if he could have a trial. DC got lucky there

I’d like dembele from Grimbsy. Would also like another winger with raw power- even if the skill isn’t so sky high. We've already got half a team where the skill level is not too high

Recommended by Ellis as he knew him from earlier, and it had not worked out for him previously at Torquay and Northampton.
