He has clearly been out injured recently (I saw him up at the Nuffield Hospital in his Rovers kit a while back), I suspect he will go at the end of his contract. He is at least worth a try in my not so humble opinion.

So we've now had Byron Moore compared to not only Billy Bodin but also Matty Taylor. I'm done. People can change if you give them a chance Look how crap some of our players have been over the years and then turned into quality assets Ricky Lambert for starters Not sure if you are taking the water or not? You can't keep hoping every player will come good just because 1 or 2 have once before. For what it's worth, until we get wingers then I would utilise him a bit as he does give us an option of width. He is probably our best winger at the club at the moment. Can't believe I just said that... If he's still here next season though, I'd be extremely disappointed. In fact he is probably the biggest winner out of Bodin leaving as his best game was on that right hand side vs Oldham earlier in the season. This could be a lifeline for him, last chance saloon if so. How DC tells him that though I'm not sure as he strikes me as a player that would need an arm round him.

DC clearly doesn't fancy him, so I expect to see him going out on loan to free up space/wages to bring someone else in. That's assuming someone wants him and that he then agrees to that loan - we can't force him to go on loan

Hed be in my starting VI for worse ever player to wear a Rovers shirt. He wouldn't get in my Rovers team but I wouldn't go that far. He's put some far from impressive home performances in but I can remember quite a decent game against Bolton away last season and he looked reasonable in pre season too. Probably deserves one last shot, even if it's just being backup to another winger that's coming in.

Problem with Moore is he's shown flashes of being a brilliant player, unfortunately those times are few and far between.
For me unless a miracle happens between now and the end of the season he's off in the summer.

Moores lack of heart is what is worrying for me..He shows no desire on the pitch or rarely appears to put the effort in when he does get the chance..for a professional 100% effort is the minimum that should be expected.

but in my opinion Cristian Montano was even worse, yet lots of people were upset when we let him go. I find this genuinely puzzling.

Thought he was excellent at Bolton last season - if that could be reproduced in 7/10 games would be worth giving him a run. I wonder if we are in contract talks, just in case............

Not wanting to be controversial, but I do feel the criticism he's come in for has been pretty unfair. I know he hasn't impressed so far, but, due to his unfortunate tendency for looking slightly comical when things go wrong, this distracts attention from the fact that he does actually at least try to make things happens. Unlike Cristian Montano, who mostly just didn't try, and therefore somehow got away with far less criticism. I think that, if played in every game between now and the end of the season, Moore would do OK. Not saying I wouldn't prefer a better new player, but we all know that's not that likely. Monty didn’t try? Moore does? Really? I’d be more inclined to say monty at least tried despite a lack of ability and that was why I was disappointed to see him go as he looked like he was giving it all. Byron on the other hand strikes me as lazy and disinterested. Even his opening interview with the club.

I think he replaced Jake Gosling, don't think he was an improvement. And I bet it was on a higher wage.

The problem I have had with Moore is that every time he plays or comes on he never looks interested or looks like he will do anything to change the game.
He gives the ball away, makes no runs into space, can’t dribble with it, can’t cross a ball, shirks out of every challenge and apart from one lucky defection which got him a goal against Bolton last year, I can’t think of anything he has done which would make me think he has even the potential to do better.
He tailed off at Crewe, did nothing of note at Port Vale and has done jack for us. What makes any one possibly think he will be able to do any better with another contract.
With Lambert there looked like a player ready to be unlocked. He still played with passion and bullied defences. Not seen anything that suggests he could cut it at this level.

Time to move him on away from the club.
I find it worrying how he has over 200+ league 1 apps yet he cant even make it onto the bench most weeks! DC must see nothing from him on the training ground to warrant that decision.
Also it begs the question why hasn't he requested to go out on loan? If I was a 'senior pro' not getting game time my first move would be to find somewhere I can get game time.

Dear NailseaMark
Byron has been at the club a season and a half now - he had plenty of time to demonstrate his abilities - and generally he has failed. Think this would be an act of desperation (no signings in Jan) if DC started playing him in the first 11.

Byron has not, for whatever reason , really been given the chance to prove his worth. its the nature of the beast (wingers)that they are either game changers or totally unable to have any impact , you can tell very early in a game if they have the beating of their man and are able to get to byline and put in meaningful crosses, if this is not the case then he has to be able to contribute in some other way.As has been pointed out Ellis is a great example of this, and used to be anonymous in some games but now he is always involved at one end of the field or other, and arguably our best defender at times! There is no doubt DC can take great credit , along with Ellis's own hard graft, for making him the player he is now,and he needs to do likewise with Moore.IF he is unwilling to give him a chance or Byron does not take on board the advice given then he needs to be moved on , simple! As it stands i dont think its fair to judge him on the very limited chance he has had, and dont understand how he can come in for so much stick, purely based on that very limited exposure. Was it only last season when Ellis was getting all that stick? So get to work on him DC ,if you not already done so, give him a chance , if he dont grab it with both hands then move him on.

Give him a chance. We need to pull together to get us through this tough time and that includes the players.
Agree with Henbury Gas, Lambert was awful when he first joined and was relegated to the bench for quite a while. He was then given another chance and the rest is history. UTG

I vaguely remember a good first half at home at the start of this season that evaporated in the second. He hit the post once in a game last season when he looked decent. Thats it. Not nearly enough for an established L1 winger.
