For a club that averaged 41,000 gates in the Prem, Sunderland are pathetic. Been on the back foot since they last got promoted. A drop to the 3rd tier will do them good. They need a clean sweep.

Problems run deep at that club. They keep going for expensive names rather than the correct appointments and they hire and fire a bit like Leeds.
A bit like us when we dropped to the conference. Just need to push the reset button and get the mentality right.

Christ alive I thought this place was bad sometimes! Pure hatred on that forum, he can't be that bad, trouble is it's difficult to maintain good form in a poor side.

Clarke-salter is a young player who has come up short when hes played at the sharp end for us and sunderland. That said the vile abuse of a 20 year old trying to make his way in the game on the sunderland forum is just plain nasty.

I agree but was he really ready to play in a Prem relagation dog fight ? Strong, mature, assured, wise aren't words I would associate with JCS at this moment in time. He wasn't ready in my opinion for L1 at the stage of his development when he came to us. A top half L1 side with aspirations of the play offs. Street wise Millwall found him out and I'm not sure he has progressed much further reading the Sunderland forum. Perhaps a spell in L2 would certainly toughen him up. Not sure Chelsea would allow that of an aspiring Englandy player though, but if they are stretching him to his limit as an assessment of his future worth I would say he is broken at the moment. A period of recovery is needed and a recall probably the best call for all parties as its only going to get worse at Sunderland as L1 beckons.

A lot of Sunderland fans saying the same things as myself and others were saying on here last season. He gets beat physically was too easily for a CB. Add to the fact yesterday he has just returned from a 3 game ban, he dawdles on the ball, loses it and then recklessly pulls back the opposition player when he is already on a yellow. When he arrived here he was billed to be the next John Terry. Ironically and by some miracle they actually happen to be blaming in the same league now and they were both at Chelsea. That is about as far as the similarities go, however.

Perhaps he hasn’t had a good time at Sunderland and might not be good enough but tbh there are probably quite a few others in that team who aren’t good enough and yesterday losing at home and getting sent off probably provided them with a clear scapegoat for them being a poor club. But some of those posts were poor, vile and abusive posts should not be acceptable and whilst this forum can get a bit heavy at times I glad it doesn’t drop to that level. I’m sure many will disagree with me but some of those posters should be ashamed of the abuse aimed at a 19/20 year old. Blimey, I don’t reckon JCS is the reason for Sunderland being a car crash of a club. I’ve always said all opinions on forums are acceptable but sometimes the language and the “how” you voice those opinions do need to stay below the line and many of those posts on the Sunderland forum crossed that line, imo. I know he got lots of flack on here last season esp after the Millwall match but without checking each post I’m pretty sure it didn’t descend to that level, thankfully. Opinions are fine, vile abuse is not. I know I’m probably saying stuff that’s seen as being “old fashioned” and many will disagree but sometimes you just say it as you see it. UTG!

sh** forum. Vile comments about a young lad. Accept he could be out if his depth, but an experienced & well respected manager picks him so must see something. Did he really cost us play offs against Millwall?

No he’s not, though I agree that it’s your opinion. It would be interesting to see him play in a decent defence. Our defence wasn’t the strongest last season and Sunderland’s certainly isn’t. Blimey, he’s 20 not 30 so still learning, put him in a decent defence and he might be very different. Time will tell. UTG!

Our defence wasn't the strongest but look at the difference when Sweeney came in last year. I've seen countless mistakes by JCS now for both us and Sunderland. He lacks physicality big time, he's lazy and careless.

Have you seen his red card? I can understand their frustrations. No, he is not the only reason they are down there but they were 1-0 up against Middlesbrough before he got sent off and they ended up drawing 3-3 and they were only 1-0 down on Saturday before his sending off. But because he plays for Chelsea and won the world cup with England U20's, let's make out he's some world beater.

probably already been mentioned but..... if sweeney had played against millwall final game of last season instead of JCS then millwall would almost certainly not have made the playoffs...millwall should thank DC for their final day success...on that day JCS got taught a harsh lesson by Morrison....up until that game i thought he was an ok league 1 CB...championship is still way above his pay grade and the loan move to sunderland has been a disastrous one...fully expected chelsea to realease him in the summer & he’ll probably move to a top 10 league 1 club... be very supprised if he’s impressed any championship scouts this year to date...

He got completely bullied by Magennis vs Charlton too in the game he got injured, then he came back and was still crap and people decided that it was because of the injury not the fact he was crap before that anyway. He is lazy, incompetent and weak.

Also don't get the fuss about the what they ahve said? All they are saying is he is sh** and one of the worst players they have has played for them. They're probably right!
